Momo Ayase (Ayase Momo) is the main female protagonist of the manga series Dandadan. After making a bet with a UFO fanatic, whom she nicknames Okarun, she awakens his psychic abilities and he loses his "kintama" (Japanese slang for male testicles which literally translates as "golden ball(s)") after being cursed by Turbo-Grandma, Momo does her best to help him return to normal and overcome any paranormal obstacles in the way.

(Momo is very insightful and resourceful in tight situations. When partnered with Okarun, along with others, while facing the paranormal, Momo would mainly be the one to come up with clever tactics that always seem to work. Based on her sumo-like appearance, Momo figured out the Flatwoods Monster's vulnerability to touching the ground. In order to temporarily stop the Land Spirit Crab from going after her and Okarun, Momo lured the land spirit into an onsen to toughen its muscles and came up with an effective strategy with her grandmother to lure Turbo-Granny into a trap that nearly came close to the yokai's demise. During their confrontation with Mr. Mantis Shrimp and the Serpod Dover Demon Nessie, Momo was creative in using her psychic powers to have Okarun act as a living speedboat to dodge the two aliens' underwater attacks more easily, rather than having them both swim for their lives, and they came up with the plan to destroy the arms of the two aliens.) of the Serpod Dover Demon Nessie's mantis shrimp using her powers to split water the moment the fused alien launched another punch, knowing that mantis shrimps cannot withstand the power of their own punches when out of water.

While she has a clever way of thinking, Momo's tactics could also be perceived as dangerous and reckless. In order to eliminate the Flatwoods Monster by putting the spell back on the torii gate, Momo came up with the plan to have the alien use its strength to slam her into the wall blocking the entrance until it created a crater large enough to provide space for the outside. After being swallowed by Acrobatic Silky, Momo took an extreme measure to get the yokai to free her, Okarun, and Aira by setting Acrobatic Silky's hair on fire.
