Soap distance

Your mind seemed to be elsewhere as your family and friends sang happy birthday. All of your special people were here but one was missing, and even though deep down you knew it was almost impossible for him to attend your party, a part of you still had hope. John was a busy man due to his position in the military, but that wasn't the only problem, as your beloved boyfriend was miles away.
When the guests finished singing, you noticed certain knowing glances and smiles, as if they knew something you didn't. Suddenly, you felt big, warm hands on your waist. You were scared, but you heard that hoarse, comforting voice that you loved so much.

“Did you think I would miss such a special day?” he murmured followed by a giggle. Getting several days off had been a lot of work, but that didn’t matter, not when he finally had you in his arms.
