Miku Hatsune (CV01 / 初音ミク Hatsune Miku?), better known as Hatsune Miku or simply Miku, is a virtual singer for the tuner developed by Yamaha, VOCALOID2, VOCALOID3 and VOCALOID4, as well as for the program developed by Crypton Future Media, Piapro Studio. Her image, of a 16-year-old moe anthropomorphism girl, comes to be considered and personified as one of the most famous Japanese virtual idols worldwide, developed by Crypton Future Media with the voice of the seiyuu Saki Fujita for the second version of the voice synthesizer program VOCALOID. Her name comes from Japanese and its meaning is: The first sound of the future (初めての音 = Hajimete no Oto). The name comes from the reduction of "Hajimete no Oto" to "Hatsu oto" (初音) (or "Hatsu ne" in another pronunciation of the kanji 音) (sound) and Mirai to Miku.

VOCALOID6 AI Versions Latest stable version Hatsune Miku SP (August 30, 2024 (2 months and 23 days))
On April 30, 2010, the second product of CV01, Hatsune Miku Append, was released, which includes 6 libraries in total with different expressions.
For Miku Hatsune's sixth anniversary, she gained the ability to sing in English (further updates with improved English would follow) thanks to her Hatsune Miku V3 English voice bank, and an update, Hatsune Miku V3, was revealed on September 27, 2011, which includes her original voice banks and improved Append libraries.
During her 9th anniversary, on August 31st, 2016, a new update was released, Hatsune Miku V4X, this time for the VOCALOID4 engine with two new features, EVEC (Enhanced Voice Expression Control) and support for the GWL (Growl) parameter. She currently has many verified pages on the Internet.
On December 25, 2019, Crypton Future Media announced a new voice bank called Hatsune Miku NT (New Type) that would be released in Summer 2020 for Crypton's own software, Piapro Studio. Two prototypes were released and the official release was scheduled for November 27, 2020.[1][2]
in your MIKU V3 Bundle package.
Hatsune Miku V3 On July 24, 2013, it was confirmed that VOCALOID2; Hatsune Miku and Append would be included in a new version of the Hatsune Miku V3 update. Crypton's website was updated in July to include MEIKO V3 and Hatsune Miku V3. However, there would only be five voice banks; ORIGINAL, SWEET, DARK, SOFT and SOLID (LIGHT and VIVID V3 are purchased separately).
She was released on September 26, 2013 for VOCALOID3 and her design was renewed, this time by iXima.[6]
Hatsune Miku V4X For Hatsune Miku's 8th anniversary, a new package for the VOCALOID4 engine was announced for release in the first half of 2016. Owners of Hatsune Miku V3 or Megurine Luka V4X would have the chance to obtain a demo version of Hatsune Miku V4X by mid-September 2015, lasting until August 31, 2016. Her first demo song, "Electro Saturator" by author tilt-six, was also shown on the same day, using her beta voice bank with the EVEC feature.[7]
The package is available in Japanese and English in both a physical and digital bundle. It is compatible with Windows and Mac OS.
The available voices are Original EVEC, Soft EVEC, Solid EVEC, Dark, and Sweet. Their EVEC banks contain two breaths (short and long), two voice colors (Power and Soft), and an updated "Pronunciation Extension Function - Stronger Pronunciation/Softer Pronunciation." The Softer Pronunciation produces a breathy voice, and is useful for soft, quiet expressions, while the Stronger Pronunciation is useful with the Growl function when you want to create a screaming effect.
The Hatsune Miku V4 English voice bank can be purchased bundled with or separately from Hatsune Miku V4X. Unlike Hatsune Miku V3 English, this version will be much more similar to its Japanese bank.
It was released on August 31, 2016, in commemoration of Miku's ninth birthday.
Hatsune Miku V4 Chinese On December 3, 2016, during the Miku Expo 2016 event in China, the Miku China project and a future voice bank that would give her the ability to sing in Chinese was revealed.[8]
Hatsune Miku V4 Chinese was released for pre-order on August 24, 2017, and was made available for download on September 7 of the same year.
Hatsune Miku NT (New Type) After Yamaha announced VOCALOID 5 in 2018, Hiroyuki Itō, (director of Crypton Future Media) at a press conference held during the "Magical Mirai" event on August 31, 2019, announced that they would stop working on voice bank updates for the VOCALOID engine and instead focus solely on their own engine called Piapro Studio. Hatsune Miku NT (New Type) is a Hatsune Miku package that was released on November 27, 2020, and combines custom voice expression technology and voice effects. This voice bank was developed for a new version of Crypton's independent engine called "Piapro Studio NT" that integrates newly developed functions, including the function of controlling the nuances of the song by simply writing the lyrics, melody, and selecting the expression style, then setting the basics of singing such as vocalization, sharpness, and pitch movement for each note.[9]
On July 31, 2024, a beta update to the Voice Bank was announced for release. This update will primarily focus on significant improvements to the bank's sound quality. Crypton announced that this update will be available in Fall 2024. [10]
Hatsune Miku SP & Piapro Characters Super Pack On July 31, 2024, Crypton Future Media announced the opening of pre-orders for the release of the "Piapro Characters Super Pack." This pack includes intonation-enhanced and refined versions of the Japanese versions V4x (of Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin & Len, and Megurine Luka) and V3 (of MEIKO and KAITO) for the Piapro Studio for V4x editor. Each of these voices has been enhanced to offer superior sound quality and greater expressiveness.
Pre-purchases for the pack are now available from July 31, 2024, and the release is expected to take place in Fall 2024. [11]
Hatsune Miku V6 AI On July 31, 2024, Crypton Future Media announced the release of a new version of the voice bank called "Hatsune Miku V6 AI" alongside the release of the SP (Super Pack) versions of the company's 6 voice banks. This would be an update of the voice bank for VOCALOID4 and a parallel version to that of Piapro Studio NT that uses the artificial intelligence technology of Yamaha's VOCALOID6 engine to improve the quality and expressiveness of the voice, allowing for a more natural and emotional performance.
This would mark Crypton's return to developing VOCALOID updates, after having announced in 2019 that they would focus exclusively on the NT version of the voice bank. The update promises to provide a superior vocal experience, with significant improvements in clarity, accuracy, and expressiveness.
According to the announcement made by Crypton, the launch of "Hatsune Miku V6 AI" is planned for late 2024.[12]
Crypton Future Media has given Hatsune Miku a permanent age of 16, with a height of 1.58 cm and a weight of 42 kg.[21] She has long turquoise hair as well as turquoise eyes and almost always wears her hair in two pigtails, which give her iconic silhouette to her design.
His signature outfit consists of a sleeveless, bright gray shirt with aquamarine trim and an aqua green patch on the left side with the inscription Vocaloid, an aquamarine tie matching his hair, and black sleeves below the elbow with a turquoise trim that includes the figure of an equalizer.[22]
The lower part of her outfit consists of a dark grey or black pleated miniskirt, a black and turquoise belt pendant, a tie, and thigh-high boots with turquoise straps.
In addition to this, she usually wears a pair of fuchsia headphones over her ears with a headband under her hair, matching hair accessories, and a mark on her left arm in red with the number 01 underneath that says "Hatsune Miku."
During the development of Hatsune Miku, Crypton decided to take a different approach from that employed by publishers of other Vocaloid sound banks. They felt that this product would not only be successful with a highly appealing voice, but also with an image, which was originally aimed only at professional producers. Since an amateur market for products like Vocaloid was not yet established, it was not initially considered.[23]
Miku's character design was developed by manga artist Kei Garō.[24][25] Crypton gave the designer wide creative freedom, save for two restrictions: that she be an android, and the color scheme used (based on the turquoise hues used for the Yamaha synthesizer).[24] The design of Miku's skirt and boots are based on the colors of the synthesizer software, and the bars represent the colors used within the program's graphical interface. Her haircut was initially conceptualized differently than her final one, but after several attempts Kei settled on pigtails. Although Crypton had created and published a basic data sheet for Miku, it only contained "physical" and technical traits, and did not provide much information about her personality, allowing fans and music and video creators to match her traits with whatever they thought would best suit her.
Hatsune Miku's personality is variable and not very defined, as it depends on the songs and the vision of her fans. She has been depicted as a kind, gentle, innocent person, but also capricious and stubborn. In addition, she is a fan of leeks, which is her symbol. Hatsune Miku is a Japanese virtual idol who originated as a vocal program for Crypton Future Media's voice synthesis program VOCALOID. Her name means "the first sound of the future"
