Senjuro Rengoku (Rengoku Senjuro?) is the second son of Shinjuro and Ruka Rengoku, and by extension, her husband Kyojuro Rengoku.

Appearance Senjuro bears a strong resemblance to his father and brother, as he possesses the same unruly orange hair that flares out around his face, turning red near the ends above his ears, however he wears it shorter, pinning it at the back of his neck. He has fair skin, thick black eyebrows, and orange eyes that turn red near the pupils. He can be seen with a sorrowful appearance even before he bids Tanjiro farewell.

Synopsis Demon Train Arc He first appears thanks to the Demon Blood Technique imposed on Kyojuro aboard the Demon Train, which induced him to a dream, meeting him after speaking with his father. Senjuro asks him if he was happy to receive the news that he had become the Pillar of Flame. He is saddened to know the emotional situation his father was going through. Kyojuro encourages him and tells him to strive in whatever path he is going to follow, and that he believes in him. [1]

Entertainment District Arch After the battle against Enmu and Akaza is over, Senjuro is seen again, sweeping the entrance to his house, with a grieving expression. He sees a tired and wounded Tanjiro arrive, who goes there in hopes of delivering Kyojuro's final message to his family. Tanjiro calls out to Senjuro and explains why he is there, but Senjuro just looks at him, confused, informing him that he already knew what had happened to his brother and asking the hunter if he is okay.

Infinite Dimensional Fortress Arc Countdown to Dawn Arch References Manga, Chapter 55

Personality Senjuro is originally seen to be very sad and disturbed by his brother's death and his father's verbal abuse, but, after spending some time talking with Tanjiro Kamado, his true personality as a kind and caring individual who can usually see the best in a situation or person shines through. He is hopeful for his future, and although he knows that by not becoming a Demon Slayer he has broken his family's long-standing tradition, he knows that his older brother, Kyojuro, would forgive him for leaving such a scar on their history. [

Appearance Senjuro has a similar appearance to his brother, Kyojuro Rengoku, and his father, Shinjuro Rengoku, as he possesses unruly golden hair that flares out around his face and turns red near the tips above his ears and shoulders, which he wears tied messily behind his head. He has fair skin and large, golden eyes that turn red near the pupils, which are slanted inward and shaped to give him a determined yet kind appearance.

Senjuro wears a simple white yukata and juban with darker umanori-style hakama pants. In Kyojuro Rengoku's memory dream on the Mugen Train, he wore a dark haori over his white yukata.

History It is said that at some point in his life, Senjuro was set to become Kyojuro's successor, and thus had been training to become a Demon Slayer. However, due to his lack of skill in the field, Senjuro had to give up on that dream and decided to spend his life helping people in other ways. [3]

Synopsis Mugen Train Arch Senjuro first appears in Kyojuro's dream, asking him if his father was happy to hear the news of Kyojuro's inauguration as the Flame Hashira. He is met with a different response and is saddened to hear the hopelessness of his father's mental situation. Kyojuro later gives him words of encouragement and assures him that things were not as bad as they seemed and to do the best he could throughout life.

Senjuro appears once more after the battle with Enmu, the lowest-ranking of the Twelve Kizuki, and Akaza, the highest-ranking three. He is seen sweeping the outside entrance of his house, with a sad expression, while a worn-out and wounded Tanjiro arrives at his house in hopes of delivering Kyojuro's final message to his family. Tanjiro calls out to Senjuro and explains why he is there, but Senjuro just looks at him, confused, saying that he already knew what happened to his brother and asks the Demon Slayer if he is alright. [4]

Senjuro cries at his father's words. Suddenly, Senjuro's father, Shinjuro, appears from his house, yelling that what Tanjiro came to tell them is useless, while belittling and cursing Kyojuro for becoming a Demon Slayer as he always knew that it would only kill him. [5] Tanjiro and Senjuro are shocked by his words, but remain silent as he continues to rant about how people's powers are already decided for them at birth, but Kyojuro still went and became a Demon Slayer even though he didn't have any. Hearing these harsh words, tears begin to form in Senjuro's eyes, but, instead of stopping and comforting his son, Shinjuro tells him to stop making that pitiful expression as the funeral was already over.

Angered by this display of cruelty, Tanjiro asks Shinjuro to stop talking to and about his children in such a manner, which only causes the latter to turn his attention to him and yell at him to get off his property, and, bravely, Tanjiro states that he is a Demon Slayer. The container Shinjuro is holding crashes to the ground as he considers what this could mean, and, jumping to the first conclusion that comes to mind, he angrily asks Tanjiro if he is a Sun Breathing user. Without waiting for an answer, Shinjuro quickly attacks Tanjiro and pins him to the ground, hard-hitting Senjuro when he tries to pull his father away from the injured Demon Slayer.

Without waiting for an answer, Shinjuro quickly attacks Tanjiro and pins him to the ground, hard-hitting Senjuro when he tries to pull his father away from the injured Demon Slayer.

While Shinjuro is distracted by his son, Tanjiro quickly lands a punch on his face, forcing him to get away from him and as Tanjiro's patience has finally worn thin, he furiously asks him what the hell he's been doing, badmouthing Kyojuro who gave up on his life, and then beating up his only remaining son. Shinjuro yells that he knows Tanjiro is just mocking him because he's a Sun Breathing user who's full of himself because he can use the Original Breathing Style, and Tanjiro yells that he can never be full of himself because of how badly he's just been beaten. Rushing towards Shinjuro, the young Demon Slayer tells him to never criticize Kyojuro again. [6]

Shinjuro hits his son. Senjuro attempts to warn him that Shinjuro is a former Hashira, but, because he is being driven by so much anger and sadness, Tanjiro continues to charge at him. Shinjuro punches Tanjiro's face, ignoring his son's cries of protest, and begins repeatedly landing blows on his body until the young Demon Slayer hits him square in the jaw with a spiraling headbutt, causing both of them to fall on top of each other. [7]

Some time later, inside the Rengoku estate, Senjuro brings Tanjiro some tea, as Tanjiro thanks him for his kindness. He also apologizes for knocking Shinjuro out with his headbutt and asks if he is alright, to which Senjuro replies that he thinks he will be fine. Senjuro says that he is relieved, as Tanjiro was able to stand up to his father when he insulted Kyojuro when Senjuro was unable to get a word in. He wonders aloud what his brother's final moments were like, and Tanjiro explains that he went out gloriously. Tanjiro apologizes to him again for not being of any help to his brother, but Senjuro tells him not to worry about it, and that that answer would have been what Kyojuro would say. [8]

Tanjiro and Senjuro discover that Shinjuro had torn the book. Senjuro feels bad for having come all that way only to find out that the book he wanted was ruined, but Tanjiro once again tells him that it is okay as he can always try to find out more about the technique through training rather than reading. He explains that his body becomes much less mobile when he uses his fully concentrated breathing, so he needs to build up his stamina in order to perfect the technique. Because of the regret he feels due to his inability to save Kyojuro, Tanjiro says that he will continue to move forward and strive to become a great Hashira one day, just as Kyojuro had been.

Senjuro is touched by this and cries, smiling to himself. He tells Tanjiro that his brother never had a successor and that he failed to fulfill the role because he was too weak for his Nichirin sword to change color. However, he explains that he can still do other things that are helpful to people and while he knows that breaking the Flame Hashira succession, he knows that Kyojuro would forgive him. Tanjiro encourages him, telling him to follow the path he believes is right and saying that he will headbutt anyone who speaks ill of him, to which Senjuro replies that it would probably be better if he stopped doing that. [10]

Senjuro gives Tanjiro the protection of his brother's sword. As Tanjiro prepares to leave, Senjuro says that he will attempt to restore the Flame Hashira book using other sources and asking his father about its contents, saying that if he discovers anything he will send a crow to Tanjiro immediately. He thanks Tanjiro for his talk and offers him the gift of his brother's Nichirin sword guard, which, after some convincing, Tanjiro accepts. With that, he wishes the young Demon Slayer well and waves him off. [11]

Senjuro turns around and goes back to his house, where he finds his father sitting alone and trying to talk to him about what had happened earlier, but Shinjuro simply tells him to shut up and leave him alone. With no other choice, Senjuro leaves Shinjuro's room, leaving only the message that had been left for him: "Please take care of yourself." [12]

Infinite Castle Arch Senjuro wrote a letter to Tanjiro about a hidden thirteenth form of his Sun Breathing, but as he was in the middle of a battle with the Upper Rank Three, Tanjiro was forced to fight the demon and survive to read it. A Kasugai crow (possibly his or Tanjiro's) sat near the battlefield until Akaza's eventual death, allowing Tanjiro, after regaining consciousness from his ordeal, to read Senjuro's letter.

Also, when Akaza stated that he was glad that Kyojuro was dead, Tanjiro thought of Senjuro and Shinjuro, enraged by the demon's insult.

Dawn Countdown Arch Following the defeat and death of Muzan Kibutsuji, as well as Tanjiro's return to his humanity after being temporarily turned into a demon by Muzan, Senjuro visited his friend Demon Slayer as he recovered from his severe injuries. He was accompanied by his father, who was much happier and calmer than before, a far cry from the abusive curmudgeon he had been when Tanjiro had first met the father and son.
