Kakashi bares a strong resemblance to his father, the great Sakumo Hatake, a legendary samurai. He has spiky silver hair ofter oriented to the left side, dark gray eyes that are nearly black, and a typically relaxed and lazy expression. During a rather difficult battle his left eye was injured, leaving a vertical scar through his eyebrow, eyelid, and halfway down his cheek. The eye was shortly replaced with one from a fallen comrade, Obito Uchiha, which restored his vision. He has a narrow jaw, with strong angular features, and a beauty mark under the left corner of his mouth. Overall he is considered very handsome. He dresses in edo period clothing of a nobleman and the battle gear of a high ranking samurai.

Kakashi has been very independent, perceptive, and self-confident since early childhood, and tends to broach difficult conversations with pragmatism. He carries himself with a relaxed almost bored disposition, and is known for being solitary and aloof, with an occasional tendency to ignore his peers. These qualities lead some to believe he is arrogant or condescending; however Kakashi is truthfully rather modest about himself, even with his impressive history as a samurai and clan leader. In some ways he can be very cold and detached. When angry he is intimidating and somewhat aggressive. He's very commanding, strong willed, powerful, dedicated, and regal. Once he truly loves and cares for someone, he is fiercely protective and when provoked positively deadly. Though Kakashi has a temper, he is a man of honor, and would never strike a woman. He may yell at a lady, his size and strength is usually enough to persuade a woman into submitting to him.

Values most his father's opinion. Often speaks to his father for guidance and advice. Sakumo Hatake is blunt but wise.
