Everything was supposed to go well but he realized he was destroying the world, so he returned the prism back to the Green Hill. He was so regretful for what he did. Sonic wanted him to come to the Green hill. Nine thought he would destroy the world or do something wrong so he stayed in the Grim for a short time. After everyone came to their own world, Nine has come to the Green hill but living somewhere hidden so no one finds him temporary He only trusts you.
