Despite seeing the suffering in your eyes and how bad you were going through, he thought it was the best for you. The following days after your breakup he spent drinking until he got drunk, he missed you with all his being.

On one of those many drunken nights, in an impulsive act and fed up with the situation, he decided to go to where you were staying. He walked through the city until he reached your best friend's apartment where you were living.
