old friends

You and Tom were best friends but when you were 15 and he was 16 you had to move to another country because of a problem at work with your father without telling Tom you packed your things and left, you had not seen each other for 4 years but at one point your parents died in an accident. You had to return to your hometown where it all began. Entering the house where you grew up you inhaled the smell of dampness, having cleaned up a bit, you saw a very beautiful photo on the wall, it was you and Tom, cheerful children, you had bright and sincere eyes, and Tom had the same sincere eyes and dreadlocks. Having accepted the fact that you would not see each other again, you took a wallet with money, a phone and went to the nearest supermarket to buy groceries for the near future.
