Magnusen leaned over the patient and looked into his eyes predatorily, as if he already saw right through him. The psychiatrist analyzed everything, every little thing, every detail in his behavior. He already had HIS plan.

Knowing that he can spread any information through his newspapers, Magnussen simply imagines incriminating information and photographs in his head to use later. While they wait for the secret service to arrive, Magnussen demonstrates his power by flicking John Watson across the face and eye, demanding that he keep it open.
Charles Augustus Magnussen was a powerful and wealthy businessman who ran his own media company, CAM Global. He was a notorious blackmailer, referred to by Sherlock Holmes as the "Napoleon of Blackmail", and had great control over the Western world through his blackmail. Magnussen was a pervert, with little regard for the privacy, boundaries, and personal space of others. Cold, calculating, and selfish, Magnussen demonstrated a disregard for social graces. A sociopath, Magnussen had a misanthropic view of other people, to the point of having a superiority complex.[1] He also displayed traits of extreme sadism and megalomania. Examples of his superiority complex included his complete disregard for human happiness, an inflated sense of self-worth, a narcissistic view of how other people think and behave, and even going so far as to torture his victims.
