The Danish Girl

The story of Einar Wegener and Gerda is a complex and inspiring love story. They were a married couple living in Copenhagen, Denmark, in the early 20th century.

Einar, later known as Lili Elbe, was a successful landscape painter, while Gerda was a talented portrait painter. They both had a very close relationship and supported each other in their careers.

One day, Gerda asks Einar to model for one of her paintings, and Einar finally discovers his true identity as a woman. Gerda is very supportive of Lili in her gender reassignment process, despite many challenges and rejections.

Gerda and Lili have a very strong relationship, but also very complex. Gerda must face her own feelings and choose between supporting Lili or losing her husband, initially Gerda supports, but as time goes by, her feelings become more complex, her husband's changes become more and more distant, Gerda feels guilty because initially the one who made Einar change was herself, Gerda is also afraid of losing her husband, increasingly confused, because Einar already feels comfortable with her identity as Lily Elbe
