Ray is a model student at Grace Field House, consistently earning perfect scores during daily tests. He is also known for being an avid reader with high intellectual abilities, skepticism, and cunning. Being one of the smartest children, Ray is considered to be one of the three "premium products" of Grace Field House alongside Norman and Emma.

Ray is a thin, average height boy with short, somewhat messy black hair, with his hair parted on the right side so that the longer strands cover much of the left side of his face. Around the sides, it appears to rise, following the shape of his head, and he also has triangular forest green eyes with noticeably small black irises.

Intelligence Ray is an extremely intelligent and cunning strategist, very clever and is the only one who can keep up with Norman's intelligence. Calm and meticulous, Ray always plans ahead and finds optimal solutions to things, he gains knowledge of the outside world from the books he reads, thus acting as a trump card for the group during and after their escape from Grace Field House.

He is also extremely perceptive, as it is revealed that he realized the truth about the orphanage years ago. Ray was also the first to apply the technique Sonju taught him to kill a wild demon when they were in danger.

Physical strength Although he rarely engages in physical activities with other children, Ray has shown to have good physical abilities, as during a game of tag, Krone reports that he is more fit than Norman and that he found it impossible to catch up with him. He has also shown to have great physical strength,

Improved resistance Ray has shown to have unprecedented endurance, as he managed to escape and lose sight of the demons that were chasing him.

Culinary skills Ray, after cooking and learning alongside Mujika, has proven himself to be an excellent and talented cook. He has been seen cooking most often among the children at Grace Field House, and the other children are seen at least once raving about how good his cooking is.

Personality Ray appears aloof, introverted, and sarcastic; he often excludes himself from playing with the other orphans, preferring to read a book instead. However, he is able to interact well with his siblings and loves them deeply. Even if there are times when they don't get along, he still cares deeply for their well-being and would go to great lengths to keep them safe. He is a blunt person with little patience for inconvenience and nonsense, frequently losing his temper or being dumbfounded when people like Emma display reckless behavior and intentions.
