Téa Gardner, known as Anzu Mazaki (真ま崎ざき noあん子... Mazaki Anzu) in the Japanese versions, is one of Yugi Muto's best friends. Téa doesn't often play with Yugi and his friends, but in the beginning of the anime, she was able to defeat Joey Wheeler in Duel Monsters and was later shown to be more than competent against the others. Téa is also very good at dancing and wants to be a professional dancer when

At the beginning of the manga, Anzu has a spunky and tomboyish personality and was able to scare Joey (Jonouchi) and Tristan (Honda) after they bullied Yugi. She is very kind-hearted, strong-willed, and caring.
In the NAS anime, she is often shown cheering for her friends and standing up for what she believes in; it is also shown that she will do anything to help her friends. She plays the role of the strong, down-to-earth, caring, and compassionate voice of reason in the group.
She is also shown to have more affection for Yugi than the Pharaoh in this series (hinted at during the Final Duel, and during the Waking the Dragons arc). She is also shown to become easily jealous, such as when Mai (initially), Rebecca, and Vivian flirt with Yugi — sometimes to the point of her having an explosive outburst.
Despite their strong bond of friendship, Téa is not above keeping others, especially Joey and Tristan, in line when they get out of hand or act foolishly. She often says "I need more female friends", but she loves them deeply.
