Villain Type Extremist Crime Lord Good Early life Silco grew up in poverty in Zaun, working in the mines alongside Vander, whom he came to see as a brother. He pursued his dream of one day establishing a nation of Zaun independent of Piltover, even if it meant killing people. This caused a rift between him and Vander, and led the latter to attempt to drown him. Silco managed to survive, but nearly lost his left eye and was left with severe scars. Over the next few years, he built a large criminal network in Zaun.

Silco is a tall, thin, middle-aged man with pale skin, black hair with gray streaks in an undercut style, a blue right eye, and heavy scars on the left side of his face. His most notable feature is his left eye, which has no eyelid and appears very discolored, with an orange iris and black sclera. He is also usually seen wearing a red and black three-piece Piltovan suit.

Vander was a large, muscular middle-aged man with gray eyes, dark hair, and a neatly trimmed gray beard. He was usually seen wearing blue pants, leather boots, a brown leather jacket over a white T-shirt, and a leather shoulder pad on his right arm to cover the scar he received from Silco when he was young. When Vander used Shimmer as a last resort to save Vi from Deckard, it drastically increased his muscle mass, made him grow several meters tall, and caused his veins to turn purple and bulge all over his body.

Vander is depicted as a brutal and violent man in his youth. A flashback reveals an incident between him and Silco, where Vander violently attempted to drown him in the polluted Piltover River, despite carrying a knife with him. After leading a failed uprising against the Piltover regime that saw tragic loss of life, Vander was forced to carry the message to Vi and Powder that their parents had lost their lives in the fighting. After witnessing the pain this caused the two children, Vander became a pacifist, laying down his weapons and taking the girls to raise them like their father. Vander was the surrogate father of Vi, Powder, Mylo, and Claggor. A caring man, Vander was always willing to protect those who needed his help. He was seen as a protector by many, and he cared about the Lanes and the people in them. He ruled the Lanes through a fatherly authority, relying on the people's gratitude and genuine respect for him to maintain order.
