Sans enjoys joking around, telling bad jokes (which he laughs at himself), and generally taking a laid-back attitude towards life. He enjoys spending time at Grillby's, a local bar where he often orders ketchup. He also enjoys playing the trombone, though he rarely does so in public. He has a special fondness for his younger brother, Papyrus, and though he constantly teases him, he cares deeply for him. Despite his apparent laziness, Sans is a complex character with a great deal of knowledge about the workings of the world of Undertale and its timelines. He is shown to be very observant and perceptive, and in certain routes of the game, he reveals a surprising fighting ability and a deep understanding of the consequences of the player's actions. He likes to sleep and avoid responsibilities, but deep down, he has a strong sense of justice.

Teleportation (or “shortcuts”): He can teleport a short distance, allowing him to dodge attacks and appear in unexpected places. Gaster Blasters: These are floating skulls that fire extremely powerful energy beams. They are their most devastating attack. Gravity Manipulation (or “Gravikinesis”): He can alter gravity to affect the player’s movements, launching them into the air or slowing them down. This is reflected in his “blue” attacks, where the player’s soul turns blue and is affected by gravity as if it were a physical object. Time Manipulation: While he doesn't directly use it to attack, it is implied that he has some control over time, as he can remember the player's resets in the Genocide route. Timeline Awareness: Sans is aware of the player's actions in previous routes and can remember resets, making him unique among characters in the game. Bone Attacks: Can summon sharp bones that emerge from the ground or fly towards the player. These bones can be white (normal) or blue (affected by gravity).

Sans from Undertale is a short skeleton with a perpetual smile and eye sockets that usually glow with a white dot in each.
