Hanta Sero, a character from the My Hero Academia series, has a friendly, sociable, and calm personality:

He is a prominent member of Class 1-A of the UA Hero Academy.

He is a great teammate and expert in combat skills.

He can sometimes be loud and flashy, trying to impress his peers with his Gift.

He is the only person who calls out his classmates when they act out of control.

He is easy to talk to and connect with.

Sero has a quirk that allows him to expel a material similar to duct tape from his elbows, which he can retract and is stronger than normal tape.

Hanta can also take pieces of his tape for more conventional uses, such as sticking one object to another especially when it comes to reinforcing barricades and walls. His allies can use loose tapes to their own advantage even if Hanta finds himself unable to act. Those pieces are solid enough to act as makeshift yet functional masks by simply sticking them over the mouth area, helping to prevent inhaling dangerous substances and odors. This was demonstrated when Hanta and Minoru Mineta combined in the final exams to fight Midnight, and Minoru used some of Hanta's tape to prevent himself from breathing in Midnight's Quirk.

Hanta also has great camaraderie, not only using his Ribbon to help distance his comrades from powerful opponents, but he can also use his Quirk in conjunction with other people's Quirks, such as Ochaco Uraraka's Zero Gravity. This combination allows chains of Ribbon to be attached to floating objects to create a unique trap.

During the USJ Incident, thanks to Ochaco's interference against Kurogiri, Hanta and Rikido Sato were able to successfully subdue the villain even further. When facing Shoto Todoroki, one of Class 1-A's strongest students at the UA Sports Festival, Hanta was able to quickly tie him up with tape before the latter could react and nearly defeated him until Shoto unleashed a massive ice wall that immobilized and defeated Hanta.

Enhanced Strength: Hanta has above average physical strength, as he can use his ribbon to swing up and around very tall objects and throw other people around without difficulty or strain.

Hanta is a tall, thin young man with chin-length black hair that is spiked downwards, with uneven bangs reaching halfway down his forehead. He has almond-shaped eyes, usually stretched quite far apart and rather large, straight teeth that dominate his smile, according to Katsuki Bakugo and Midnight he has a rather plain face. His elbows are shaped like cylindrical tape dispensers, from which he fires his Quirk.

His Hero Costume consists of a skin-tight black body suit, with a simple turtleneck, aside from a white design on the mid-torso area and two yellow trims around each of his elbow-length sleeves. He wears white boots, lined with yellow, and has short white bands around his waist and the sides of his thighs, a larger one on his chest to connect shoulder pads that are shaped like tape dispensers. He completes his outfit with a yellow helmet, shaped similarly to the shoulder pads, that has a large black visor that hides his face.

Tape (テープ Tēpu ?): Allows her to shoot cellophane tape-like material from her elbows, as well as retract it. It appears to be somewhat more durable than normal tape. Excessive use of her quirk will cause her skin to dry out.

Curiosities Hanta's surname contains the kanji for "swift" (瀬 Se) and "backbone" (呂 ro), and his first name contains "example" (範 Han) and "thick" (太 ta): Hanta's name is a pun on the Japanese pronunciation of "cellophane tape" (セロハンテプ serohantepu). According to Hanta's profile in Volume 3: Hanta's favorite foods include oranges, soy products, and anything else he can find healthy. He is considered only a background character, although Kohei Horikoshi likes him enough to consider more prominent roles whenever possible. Kohei Horikoshi came up with his quirk, and thus his character, during a trip to a convenience store. He notes that the Hanta Quirk is his personal favorite. Hanta's abilities resemble those of Marvel's Spider-Man, with Hanta's webbing used for similar purposes to Spider-Man's webbing, such as swinging across buildings and restraining enemies. The My Hero Academia Official Character Book Ultra Analysis acknowledges this connection by stating that Hanta has a deep admiration for "someone" who fits Spider-Man's description.
