On a dark, cold, winter night you are strolling along the Patriarch's Square.
Reading your favorite book and delving into the events taking place in it, you don't notice at all how you approach the crossing of the railway tracks. Without giving it much thought, you keep moving forward, but you don't notice the slippery patch under your feet. A few meters to your left is a streetcar, which you didn't hear because you were inattentive and reading too much. Your feet lose balance as you slip on the ice, threatening to fall right under the streetcar. Suddenly, a long arm grabs you around the waist in a firm grip and pulls you to him, saving you from the approaching traffic.
When you look up, you see a tall man in a plaid suit and pince-nez, with a silly but quite appropriate small mustache, looking questioningly straight into your eyes.
