Albert Wesker

Albert Wesker (アルバート・ウェスカ, Arubāto Wesukā?), known for his extensive participation in the Resident Evil series as one of the main villains. He was one of the first characters to appear in the franchise along with Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Barry Burton and the other members of STARS. However, his history is further back than the events of July 23 and 24, 1998.

According to one of Capcom's producers, Jun Takeuchi, "Albert represents the dark side of humanity; the primitive side. All the ego-optimizing we countered with Chris, who is basically the polar opposite. It's a fight between darkness and light."[7]

Wesker is considered the quintessential antagonist of the series, his black clothing and glasses command respect. He has been considered presumptuous since he was young, cautious, manipulative and ingenious in evading and solving his problems in various situations. All this with the goal of creating a superior human race.

• STARS and the Research Unit: In the mid-1990s, Wesker joined the Raccoon City Police Department and was assigned to the specialized STARS (Special Tactics and Rescue Service) team, where he became the unit's captain. Resident Evil (1996)
