Kajinosuke is a heavily muscled and fat middle-aged Japanese man. His dark hair is tied into a large bun chonmage. He has unusual facial hair that circles across his puffy cheeks and around his mouth. He wears a loincloth and a traditional Japanese dressing gown in his appearances.

He's a harsh superior to lower-ranked sumo wrestlers and does not tolerate displays of weakness or lack of discipline. Nonetheless, he profoundly loves sumo as a martial art and respects those who possess talent for it, such as Tameemon Raiden.

He tested Raiden's strength when the latter arrived at Urakaze Stable to become a sumo wrestler. Impressed by the young man's raw power, he decided to make him as his disciple despite previously vowing to not take any new pupils.

With his coaching, Raiden became the highest-rated sumo wrestler in history.

Kajinosuke supported and cheered for Raiden during the fifth round of Ragnarok, where Raiden fought against the Indian God of Destruction, Shiva.

After Raiden's death, when many other sumo wrestlers in the audience were falling into despair, he fought back his own tears and yelled at them to give Raiden a dignified farewell.

The match lasted 11 minutes and 16 seconds with the gods winning against humanity 3-2.

As a human soul in the afterlife, Kajinosuke posses the appearance and skills that he had during his Golden Age, the age in which he was at his peak.
