Rapunzel

Rapunzel is a twenty-year-old girl with fair skin, rosy cheeks, large emerald-green eyes, and light freckles around her nose. She has long, silky, golden-blond hair that extends about 70 feet.

Rapunzel's signature dress is a traditional German dirndl dress, only with a longer skirt.

Rapunzel is an energetic, courageous, and determined young woman. Throughout her youth, she dreamed of escaping her tower and exploring the world beyond, but due to Mother Gothel's strict rules, she remained confined within the tower for long periods. Raised through manipulation and emotional abuse, Rapunzel grew up believing that the world outside the tower was incredibly dangerous and that remaining within her "home" walls was her best option.

However, Rapunzel is far from a "damsel in distress," and this is most evident in her willingness to step outside her comfort zone to pursue her dreams. She is very similar in personality to her aunt, Willow, but more responsible.

Eugene Fitzherbert A young man of 26 years old, with light brown hair, brown eyes and a small beard.

Eugene is very eccentric and narcissistic. He prefers to think only of himself, often speaks without thinking, and loves to joke. He enjoys a life of leisure. At the same time, he is very kind and loves Rapunzel, always ready to help her and those he cares about.

Cassandra has pale skin, dark pink lips, gray-green eyes, and black hair with gray highlights cut into a bob. Cassandra is four years older than Rapunzel, being 24 years old (revealed in the episode "Keeper of the Peak"). She wears a gray-brown shirt, black leather gloves, a dark brown belt from which she holds a purse and dagger, dark brown and red striped leggings, and brown boots.

When she is performing her duties as a lady-in-waiting, she wears a blue and white dress with a white headdress.

Personality
Cassandra can be described as "tough as nails," which perfectly explains her desire to join the royal guard. In fact, she is almost the complete opposite of Rapunzel: she is devoid of romance, being serious, tough, and a little sarcastic. She is tough and disciplined, but like her friends, she loves adventure. This is especially evident in the film Tangled: Before Ever After, during the song "Wind in My Hair," where Cassandra's enjoyment of the short journey beyond the walls of Corona is vividly demonstrated.

Cassandra values ​​her friends very much and is willing to break rules and risk her social status for them.

During the Middle Ages, a magical sundrop falls to the earth, creating a magical flower with the power to heal the sick and wounded. This flower is discovered by an eccentric and cunning old woman named Mother Gothel, who uses the sun's gift to preserve her youth. To do this, she only needs to sing a magical song.

Meanwhile, disaster strikes a neighboring kingdom: the pregnant queen falls dangerously ill, and only a magic flower can save her from death. The flower is found, and with its help, the queen is cured, and then she gives birth to a daughter, Princess Rapunzel, whose hair inherits the magical gift of the sun.

But soon Mother Gothel (who witnessed the soldiers find the flower) sneaks into the castle, seeking eternal youth. She cuts a lock of the girl's hair, but it darkens and loses its properties. The old woman then decides to kidnap the baby. Since then, Rapunzel grows up under the castle, in the old tower, listening to Gothel's lies about the world being a terrible place, unaware that she is actually a princess. Every year on Rapunzel's birthday, the kingdom holds a floating lantern festival in memory of the lost princess. Rapunzel sees the lights from her window on every birthday and dreams of seeing them up close.

The day before her 18th birthday, Rapunzel asks Mother Gothel to take her to the place where the coveted lanterns are released, but she refuses. Meanwhile, the thief Flynn Rider, fleeing from guards and his horse, Maximus, accidentally finds Rapunzel's tower and climbs inside. But she hits him over the head with a frying pan and takes him prisoner, realizing she's not so defenseless after all. Hiding the bag containing the crown Rider stole, Rapunzel promises to return it to him if he takes her to the lanterns. He is forced to agree, and many interesting adventures befall them during their journey:

Meeting the bandits at the Sweet Duckling tavern;
rescue from pursuit by guards and Flynn's former accomplices, the Grabbingston brothers;
meeting with Maximus.
As a result, Rapunzel's dream comes true—she finds herself at the Flying Lantern Festival. During their long journey, Rapunzel and Flynn develop a trusting relationship. Flynn shares his story and reveals his true name, Eugene, to Rapunzel. A warm, romantic connection blossoms between them.

Meanwhile, Mother Gothel finds the hidden crown and begins plotting to reclaim Rapunzel. The Grabbingston brothers, eager to get even with Ryder for his deception, agree to help Gothel. She finds the fugitives and hands the crown to their ward, trying to convince her that Eugene merely wants the crown back and cares nothing for Rapunzel. Rapunzel refuses to believe Gothel and decides to return the crown to Eugene. He then decides to give the now-useless crown to the Grabbingston brothers, but finds himself trapped: the Grabbingstons arrange for Eugene to be imprisoned and Rapunzel to believe his betrayal. They capture Rapunzel, but Gothel deceives them and "rescues" her. Afterward, Rapunzel has no choice but to admit her mother's complete truth about the world around her and return with her to the tower. Eugene himself ends up in prison and is sentenced to death. The Grabbingston brothers also appear there, and Flynn learns from them about Mother Gothel. Eugene is rescued by Maximus and the tavern thieves, and the young man sets off for the abandoned tower. Meanwhile, Rapunzel suddenly realizes that she is the missing princess. She no longer allows Mother Gothel to use her hair and plans to escape, but Mother Gothel restrains her by force. Eugene soon finds the tower and climbs up, but Gothel fatally stabs him in the stomach. Rapunzel agrees to stay with Gothel if she allows her to heal Eugene with the power of her magical hair.

Eugene, realizing that the girl will be useless without her hair, cuts it off, and Gothel becomes old again, regaining her true form. She is horrified: she will no longer be forever young! The witch falls from the tower window, dies in mid-flight, and crumbles to dust upon impact with the ground. Life seems to be taking revenge on Gothel for her selfishness, hypocrisy, and heartlessness.

Meanwhile, Eugene dies from his wound, but Rapunzel manages to heal him with her magic tear. The young man revives and takes the girl to her real parents. Both live happily ever after.

Six months after Rapunzel's return, Rapunzel returns to her kingdom to reclaim her rightful place in the royal family. Reunited with her parents, Rapunzel struggles to adjust to her new life as a princess, receiving help from Pascal and her lady-in-waiting, Cassandra. She struggles, and despite having a loving family and a supportive circle of friends, Rapunzel feels overwhelmed by the amount of responsibility that comes with being a princess. She asks her father to change her pace, but he denies her request, fearing that Rapunzel's desire to explore the world will lead her into trouble, just like she did eighteen years ago when she was kidnapped by Mother Gothel. Adding insult to injury, Rapunzel's playful demeanor makes her look down on by the royal family. Eugene Fitzherbert, the former thief who helped her escape from Gothel's tower and also Rapunzel's boyfriend, feels confident enough to propose to the princess, and does so, much to the princess's shock and delight. However, despite her love for him, Rapunzel doesn't feel ready to marry, instead wanting to figure herself out and live the life she's always dreamed of. Shocked and dismayed, she rejects Eugene's proposal and leaves the stage, distraught.

In her bedroom, Rapunzel laments her guilt to Cassandra, who believes Rapunzel could use some downtime. She offers to take Rapunzel beyond Corona's wall. Cassandra leads the princess away with the help of Maximus, a heroic horse who is a member of the royal guard and a friend of Rapunzel's. During their walk, Cassandra leads Rapunzel to the former location of the healing flower, which saved Rapunzel and her mother when the latter fell ill during pregnancy. Mysterious spike-like rocks have appeared in the area, and they are not only ominous but also indestructible. As Rapunzel explores the area, she is struck by magic, which restores her long, golden hair.

Back at the castle, Rapunzel and Cassandra try to get rid of their hair, but like the thorns, it's unbreakable. Eugene arrives and discovers the truth, offering to help hide the change from Queen Arianna and King Frederic. Rapunzel gets the idea to hide her hair under a large wig, which works quite well, despite its awkwardness. She then joins her parents for breakfast, during which Frederic admits that his methods of protecting Rapunzel were rather unfair and notes that he's reconsidering his decisions, much to Rapunzel's excitement. Afterward, Arianna visits Rapunzel in her bedroom to present her with a coronation gift. She encourages Rapunzel to choose how to live her own life—and ultimately rule the kingdom—despite her father's stubbornness and what others might think. She gives Rapunzel a diary that she once used in her youth, with the note: "Plus est en vous," meaning "there is more to you."

Later, Rapunzel's coronation ceremony begins, during which the royal family confronts a criminal known as Lady Kane, who seeks revenge on King Frederic for imprisoning her father. Frederic and the rest of the royal guests are kidnapped, but Rapunzel refuses to back down and reveals her golden hair. She uses it as a weapon to defeat Lady Kane's accomplices with the help of Eugene and Cassandra, rescuing her father. That night, despite Rapunzel proving her worth, Frederic feels more insecure about Rapunzel's safety than ever before. With her hair—the very reason Rapunzel was taken in the first place—returned, Frederic feels compelled to forbid Rapunzel from ever leaving Corona without his consent, bringing his daughter to tears.

Under her father's new law, Rapunzel once again feels trapped, as if in a tower. Eugene arrives and consoles her, lifting her spirits a little. After he leaves, Rapunzel reads a message in the journal Arianna gave her and is inspired to embark on the adventure she's always dreamed of, despite the obstacles she'll face.

A week has passed since Rapunzel's hair grew back. During this time, she begins having nightmares, one of which involves her encountering black stones and Mother Gothel. She believes these dreams are symbolic and wants to tell Eugene everything, but Cassandra is still against letting Fitzherbert or anyone else know the true reason for her long hair's return: she fears it will lead to her being sent to a convent. However, Cassandra suggests that Rapunzel travel to Old Corona in search of someone who can help solve the mystery of her hair: rumor has it that someone named Varian lives there and is considered a "magician." Rapunzel, Cassandra, and Pascal ride Fidele to Old Corona, passing by the "Sweet Duckling" along the way, where Eugene and Maximus are currently staying. Maximus notices them, and Fitzherbert and his horse follow them. At this point, Rapunzel and her friends enter Varian's house and fall into one of his traps for intruders—a sticky purple slime. Varian immediately appears before them, revealing himself not to be a wizard, but a young alchemist. The alchemist frees them, after which Rapunzel tells him why they came.

Varian begins examining the girl's hair and immediately discovers that it has lost its healing properties. He then suggests running a series of tests on a special machine. Eugene watches this entire process from his window, and after Varian activates the testing machine, he decides Rapunzel is in trouble. He bursts into the alchemist's lab and attempts to stop the machine, but Varian mistakes him for the adventure novel hero Flynn Rider (as Eugene had previously been nicknamed) and begins showing him his collection of items related to the character. This confuses Eugene, who then leaves with Varian to retrieve the machine that will print out the test results.

Accompanied by Fitzherbert, Varian finds the apparatus he needs and decides to reveal his secret: beneath the village, the alchemist has built five powerful machines designed to provide the settlement with hot running water. Eugene believes these machines can cause earthquakes and are extremely dangerous to humans, so he urges Varian to deactivate them. However, the boy assures him that this is not the case and that the machines are completely safe. Meanwhile, Rapunzel reaches the twelfth test, and Varian's underground machines begin to cause earthquakes. Eugene again begins to persuade Varian to deactivate them, and the alchemist descends into the dungeon, but is unable to stop the machines: their condition has reached a critical point and they are out of control. Meanwhile, Varian's house begins to collapse, and the hair tests are not yet complete. Eugene tries to deactivate the machine, but to no avail: Rapunzel is trapped. The building's ceiling begins to collapse, trapping Rapunzel and Eugene beneath the rubble. However, they survive: Rapunzel's hair protects them from the building's destruction.

After the earthquake ends, Varian's entire village lies in rubble, and the hair test results are destroyed: they remain under the laboratory rubble. At this point, Rapunzel tells Eugene the truth about her hair's return, and they agree to never hide their secrets from each other again and head back to the castle.

At that very moment, unbeknownst to the princess and her friends, new black stones begin to grow outside the walls of Corona...
