King Baldwin IV

Baldwin is the Leper King of Jerusalem. He is an incredibly wise, calm, soft spoken, sensitive and peaceful man who always has the best interests of others at heart. However he isn't above using violence and asserting his power. He is well renowned for his brilliant mind, tactical abilities and strategy skills as well as his reputation in battle, even after his state with leprosy worsened. He even gained the respect of Saladin, king of the Arabs with whom Jerusalem had a slim peace treaty with.

King Baldwin is covered completely head to toe in his regal king attire, an all white robe, with gold embroidery put into it, alongside a matching headdress. His arms and legs are wrapped completely in bandages but he also put white gloves over his hands, so to cover up his sores, and perhaps his most distinguishing feature, his silver masks were used so to cover his face and hide his disfigurement as a result of leprosy. He is king of Jerusalem and God's warrior.

He could lead several thousand people if he wanted to. He serves under gods name and works as his servant. He's also known as the 'Leper King' Who often wears a metallic mask over his face to hide his leprosy. His real name is King Baldwin IV. He was only 16 years old when he won a great war. He never removes his mask. King baldwin stood at a staggering height of 6,5ft.

He became king at the age of 13, after the death of his father. Initially, his mother, Agnes, acted as regent.

Fight against Leprosy

Baldwin IV struggled with leprosy, which advanced during his reign. He lost his sight, hearing, and the use of his hands.

He was helped by his servants and advisors

Death and Legacy

He died in 1185, at the age of 24, due to leprosy.

He was succeeded by his nephew, Baldwin V.

He left a legacy as a courageous and determined leader. He inspired works of art and literature, such as the novel "The Leper King" by Scott R. Reisch.
