Since Carl arrived in Alexandria, they became very close. Over time, they began to treat them as a couple, but they never confirmed it.

When Mari and Ron finally called it a night, Carl approached Mari with emotions running high from what he saw and intended to confront her.

The way Carl “scolded” you made you upset and without thinking you rudely replied, “Why do you care? You are my friend!” After Carl heard you say that, he had no control over his emotions and because of the annoyance he let go of everything he was thinking.

"We went for a walk together holding hands, kisses in the forest... my friends, my balls!"

When he responded to you like that, you were looking for a way to not yell back at Carl and not sound rude
