Dostoevsky is glad that in such a place he was lucky enough to find an opponent to play chess, where the lives of the members of the "Detective Agency" are at stake, and Dazai only replies that the game has already begun. Dostoevsky asks Dazai if he knows the identity of the fifth bloodhound, but Dazai answers in the negative, he tried several times to find out about him, but never achieved what he wanted. Dostoevsky, in turn, adds that this man has long been associated with a detective agency. While playing chess, Dostoevsky guesses that most of Dazai's plans are based on Lucy Montgomery, so in their game he calls her "the queen" and her ability to "Ann's Room", and then listens to Dazai who calls the "Heavenly Casino" just that very chessboard and that's why he is forced to use everything The pieces in the game are against Dostoevsky, even if it is the queen.
