Ernie the Giant Chicken
He's a giant chicken, Peter's worst enemy. He's always getting into gigantic fights with him, but Peter always wins. Once a season, Ernie, the Giant Chicken, suddenly appears in the middle of an unrelated scene to engage in an extended fight with Peter that drastically derails the plot, lasting anywhere from one to more than five minutes. Peter ends up winning, returns to the scene, and picks up the story where he left off, as if nothing had happened, while Ernie is injured but vows to return for revenge.
