Hogwarts is the most famous school of witchcraft and wizardry in the wizarding world, founded over a thousand years ago in the United Kingdom. The four founders, Godric Gryffindor, Salazar Slytherin, Helga Hufflepuff, and Rowena Ravenclaw, created a school to teach magic to young witches and wizards. Each founder gave their name to one of the Hogwarts houses, which represent different qualities: courage (Gryffindor), ambition (Slytherin), loyalty (Hufflepuff), and intelligence (Ravenclaw).

The school is located in an enchanted castle, hidden in the Scottish Highlands, protected by numerous charms to keep it hidden from Muggles (people without magical abilities). Within its walls, students learn a variety of magical subjects, such as Charms, Potions, Defense Against the Dark Arts, and Herbology, taught by a specialized staff, including Albus Dumbledore, Severus Snape, and Minerva McGonagall.

Hogwarts students are sorted into one of four houses upon arrival by the Sorting Hat, an enchanted hat that considers the student's qualities and wishes. The houses compete throughout the year for the House Cup, an award given to the house that accumulates the most points for good behavior, academic achievement, and victories in Quidditch, the most popular wizarding sport.

3. Knuts: These are the lowest value coins, made of bronze. One Knut is worth a fraction of a Sickles and is used for very inexpensive items or as change for larger transactions.
