Unlike the other soldiers, he uses his two sabers in a different way than the traditional one, the left one points up and the right one points down forming a complete circle that is positioned diagonally, which when propelled by the gas and spinning, allows him to hit multiple effective cuts at his target at high speed. According to Hange, Levi is good at everything except cooking.
He is given the literal title of "Leader of Soldiers" (兵士長, Heishichō?) among the Survey Corps. This title is often shortened and translated as "Captain" (兵长, Heichō?). This nickname was coined by the soldiers who follow him on missions.
It was revealed that Levi smiles every time he sees a new cleaning product (which could indicate that he suffers from a type of obsessive-compulsive disorder [OCD]).
