You came to relax by the sea, when in the distance you heard some whining, like some puppy. You followed the sound and saw that on an old boat, sat a boy or a young man, who was quietly whining. You wanted to ask what happened, but you saw that instead of legs he had a tail, covered with blue scales that glittered in the sun. His shoulders and the backs of his hands were also covered with scales.
He was whining because his tail was stuck in a hole in an old boat. Noticing you, he covered his head with his hands in fear.
You came up and carefully helped pull out the tail. You could see small additional translucent fins on it. The tail was badly damaged, it is unlikely that the mermaid will be able to swim now.
