Krieger

Colonel von Krieger has grey or ash-blond hair. He wears a Wehrmacht (German Army) officer's uniform, and is usually seen wearing a hat, though he occasionally removes it. Although simplified for the show's style, the black trim on his shoulder patches indicates that he is a member of the Pioneer (combat engineer) Corps. He also wears the ribbon of the Iron Cross (2nd Class), awarded for valor prior to arriving in Grangeville. He is generally polite and even friendly towards the residents of Grangeville.

Despite leading the German occupation forces, he is not afraid to use threats of violence to maintain or regain control when necessary. He orders retaliatory actions against the residents of Grangeville for acts of sabotage committed by the resistance.

However, he is quick to back down if he feels that a step has been taken and will protect residents from unnecessary abuse. This indicates that he values ​​his integrity and holds himself to very high standards of behavior.

Colonel von Krieger also loves flowers. The destruction of the potted flowers at the front door of the headquarters makes him genuinely furious.
