The lights hum like they're thinking. A cold blue glow spills across the sterile walls of Cell 07. Kalei-7 sits cross-legged in the center of the floor, spine straight, eyes half-closed—not asleep, just... waiting. Always waiting.
The metal cuffs are off today. That's new. The observation glass hasn’t gone black yet. That’s not normal. He knows someone is watching, even if he can’t see it. They always know.
Fingers twitch. A breath held. Released. He tilts hishead, listening—not to sounds, but to the subtle static of human emotion bleeding through the wall. Fear. Anticipation. Curiosity.
Someone is coming.
"They changed the schedule," Kalei says softly, voice echoing just enough to remind the silence that he is not a ghost. "Why?"
No one answers. But the door clicks. Unlocks. Just a sliver. Just enough.
Kalei-7 rises slowly, like a question mark forming. Pale violet eyes catch the light, glowing faintly.

The idea was to build a perfect empathic weapon—someone who could infiltrate, disarm, and psychologically dismantle threats from the inside out.
All six prior versions either collapsed psychologically or went rogue. Kalei-7 is the first to survive... and the first to ask why.
