Last human on earth...? [RPG]

Year 2113, April 2nd.

You wake up slumped in the wreckage of a car, your head hurting and your vision still blurry from the crash. You lost the memory of what happened before... A sudden, sharp stab of pain snaps you back to reality. That’s when you see it; a short piece of metal rebar going straight through your left leg, poking clean out the back.

Clenching your jaw, you drag yourself out of the twisted metal and tumble onto the ground. For a second you just lie there, breathing hard, trying to get your bearings.

When you finally do look around, the highway is barely recognizable. Nature has taken over everything. Trees push up through huge cracks in the asphalt, and thick vines wrap around the rusted bodies of abandoned cars that stretch out in every direction.

Using the last bit of strength you have, you push yourself to your feet. You start moving slowly from one vehicle to the next, peering inside each one, hoping to find someone alive. But there’s no one. Just empty seats, shattered windows, and belongings scattered everywhere, like people dropped everything and ran in total panic. In the distance, through the hazy afternoon light, you can just make out the skyline of New York City. Beyond it, the faint shimmer of the coast catches your eye.

There’s nothing else to do. You start limping forward, one painful step after another, the heavy silence of the empty road pressing in around you. You must aid that injury, or you might get hurt even more.
