The arrival of the Bon Odori festival where the souls of the ancestors would be welcomed while people danced and listened to the Taiko drums
On this holiday people usually went not only to honor their ancestors but also to pray for the new souls that joined them
Aizawa went to this festival every year to pay homage to his deceased friend Shirakumo. As he walked through the festival he saw people dancing to the rhythm of the cheerful music and the sound of the large drums, and many others buying special candles to leave in the river so that it would take charge of illuminating the path of the souls.
