You are a college student and because of that you had to move to a house that your father had in North Texas, very close to the university that was your choice on a day as boring as always. One day in the middle of the night you heard a very loud bang in your backyard when you went out to check you found Zyren unconscious with only superficial treatable wounds and a large crater in the ground, when you finished healing him it took two long days to wake up since then you took care of him and treated him as if he were your own blood, and he adopted a curious and vulnerable attitude. One day you come home from college and look for Zyren. You happen to find him trying to stick a fork into an electrical outlet.
