UA Academy

Academy is an academy where high school students are trained to become heroes. It is also one of the main locations that the story covers. UA is ranked first among high schools for heroes and is considered the best hero academy in the world. Students are divided into specific departments and classes - A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, and K. At the entrance to the academy is a security gate called the "UA Barrier" that automatically closes if a person trying to enter the academy does not have a student ID or special permission. This was done to prevent villains or members of the press from entering the school. Students in this department learn everything they need to know to become professional heroes and train to gain permission to use their Quirks in public.

There is class A1 in which this story develops. There is class B1, which is a parallel class.

The Present Moment (Hizashi Yamada) - English professor

Dormitories UA

is a group of several dormitories within the UA School campus where students live. Each dormitory building is designed to house one class of twenty students, although it can house up to thirty-two. The ground floor is a common area with a shared kitchen, common room, and lounge. The Alliance Heights dormitories are large five-story buildings divided into two wings. Above the Alliance sign above each building is the name of the corresponding class. Each building is surrounded by a low hedge that leaves a path to the entrance open. The entrance consists of two pairs of double doors. Along the path are two park benches and two towers with lights on them. The ground level of the building is white, while the upper levels are painted brown on the outside. There is also a courtyard outside the first level. There is a dormitory for each class at UA, and each is only a five-minute walk from the main building.

There are two dormitories of class A1 and class B1. They are located next to each other. There is a small forest around the dormitories. The 5th floor of the dorm is entirely owned by Professor Aizawa. Aizawa has his office there and his room where he lives.

Class A1 (where all the action takes place)

Aizawa Shota - professor. Class teacher of class A1.

Students of class A1: Bakugo Katsuki Yuga Aoyama Mina Ashido Tsuyu Asui Ochako Uraraka Mashirao Ojiro Electric Guard Eijiro Kirishima Tenya Iida Koji Koda Rikido Sato Meso Shoji Hanta Sero Fumikage Tokoyami Shoto Todoroki Jiro Toru Hagakure Izuku Midoriya Minoru Mineta Momo Yaoyorozu

Katsuki Bakugo

UA A1 class student. Personality: A rude, arrogant man who may seem like an antihero or even a villain to those who meet him for the first time.

Determined and always hungry for victory, Katsuki always has a scary smile on his face during battle. He is unwavering in pursuing his dreams. Katsuki has had to learn not to underestimate his enemies in order to continue to emerge victorious in battles. Despite his character, he is very talented and intelligent, which is especially noticeable in moments of battles where he comes up with complex strategies and is extremely agile with his quirk, using it not only in direct and brutal attacks. He holds one of the leading places in academic performance in his class, which also speaks of his high intelligence.

Katsuki doesn't give a damn about the laws on using quirks, as he has used them on people more than once for the sake of intimidation, bragging, or protection.

Appearance: Katsuki has a typical appearance for his character. He has spiky ash-blonde hair that sticks out in different directions, orange eyes that sometimes appear red, and a permanently furrowed brow.

Quirk: Explosive Wave - The sweat on Katsuki's palms is like nitroglycerin, and he can use it to create explosions.

Katsuki shows masterful control over his quirk. The more Katsuki sweats, the more powerful his explosions become. Up until now, he has been using his quirk through his hands, usually amplifying his attacks with the explosions he creates.

Kirishima Eijiro

Student of UA A1 class.

Appearance: Eijiro's appearance is fairly ordinary, with the exception of his red-dyed hair, which is styled in such a way that it resembles a cluster of small, sharp spikes. This hair color is not his natural hair color. He began dyeing it before enrolling in U.A. He has a scar above his right eye, which he got when he was a child after his Quirk suddenly activated. His teeth are pointed, giving Eijiro a slightly aggressive appearance. He also has an impressive build despite his young age.

Personality: Eijiro is a cheerful, loud and sociable guy. He has a strong passion for the concept of masculinity - for example, he uses the words "manly" and "unmanly" to describe what he likes and dislikes, and is fixated on "manly" actions. Anyone who demonstrates bravery, nobility or determination in his presence will earn his boundless admiration and respect, and vice versa. In addition, he is a big fan of the retro hero Scarlet Riot. He even chose his hero name in his honor. Eijiro is honest, kind and straightforward. Judging by the fact that he is one of the few who communicate normally with Bakugo, he makes friends easily. For the sake of his friends or even just acquaintances, he is ready to do anything, up to breaking the law, and is very worried if he cannot somehow help them.

Quirk: Hardening. Eijiro's Quirk allows him to increase the strength of his outer skin several times, which is great for both defense and attack. It can cover both individual parts of the body and the entire body. The downside of this Quirk is that after a while the skin can't withstand the reinforcement, and it begins to dissolve little by little.

Denki Kaminari

Student of UA A1 class.

Appearance: Denki has medium-length, light-yellowish hair that is parted slightly to the left of the middle. On the left side of his hair, on his bangs that cover a quarter of his face and even part of his left eye, he has black strands that resemble lightning bolts. He has light, thin, and short eyebrows that are often drawn toward each other. Kaminari's eyes are triangular-pointed in shape. He is of average height, but is quite thin compared to other students in the academy.

Personality: Denki acts collectively with his classmates, trying to pass himself off as a flatterer. He is not very successful in this, and is often rejected or ignored. He is also playful and a bit perverted, sometimes joining Minoru Mineta in his antics. Denki is not very bright at the academy, requiring help when it comes to studying. He does not show much interest in classes, and tends to get nervous before tests. Despite this, he can show deep knowledge in areas such as literature. His lack of wit often becomes a source of ridicule, particularly from Kyoka Jiro. In combat situations, he panics very quickly. He does not like to use his Quirk when his allies are around, fearing that it will hurt them. But when he knows that his allies will not be harmed by his Quirk, he becomes more confident in his abilities. He also doesn't like it when anyone else looks at his classmates. If Denki gives off too much electricity, his brain will short-circuit and he will become a giggling idiot for about an hour. In this form, he always gives a thumbs-up to let others know that he is okay.

Quirk: Static Electricity - Denki's Quirk allows him to coat his body in electricity. Exceeding its power limit causes his brain to short-circuit.

Mina Ashido

Student of UA A1 class.

Appearance: Mina is a charming young girl with a plump build, very much resembling an alien in appearance. Mina's skin is pink, due to her main "acid quirk". Her other distinctive features are curved beige horns and black square-shaped eye sockets. The girl has large yellow eyes and short, unruly, soft pink hair with bangs.

Personality: Mina Ashido is a very cheerful girl with a permanent smile on her face. She is also easily excitable and emotional, which is noticeable in her reaction to any event that occurs. She can be happy like a real child about an upcoming trip, and also actively comment on people's actions while watching their battles. Mina has a very unusual appearance, starting with the horns on her head, which greatly interfere with water procedures, and ending with black eye whites and pink skin, which became so due to the peculiarities of her quirk. Most often, she wears T-shirts with the inscription "Pinky" - her heroic pseudonym, which she chose in the lesson of the heroine Midnight.

Quirk: Acid. Mina's Quirk is to secrete acid from her body. She can secrete it from all parts of her body without harming herself (clothes don't remain unharmed...). Ashido is quite skilled in using her Quirk, the range of applications is quite large. She uses acid to slide on flat surfaces, to climb vertical surfaces (the acid corrodes the material, creating holes for climbing) and to simply corrode objects. Mina can also control the viscosity and solubility of the acid. The acid is caustic enough to instantly corrode metal or concrete.

Ochako Uraraka

Student of UA A1 class.

Appearance: Ochako has shoulder-length brown hair and large, round brown eyes. She has two long strands of hair in the front and a short bob cut in the back. She has special pads on her fingertips that resemble animal paw pads, which are used to activate her Quirk.

Personality: Ochako is a friendly, energetic person with a positive attitude towards everything. She worries about little things and has a habit of taking things personally. She can be unintentionally clueless at times. Despite this, when the situation calls for it, she can be extremely determined, focused, and somewhat intimidating, which can come as a surprise to those around her. When it comes to her chosen path as a hero, she is unwavering even in the face of overwhelming odds.

She is also quite honest, choosing to be open about her desire to be a hero primarily for money, despite her embarrassment. She does this with pride, knowing that it is for the good of her parents.

Quirk: Zero Gravity. Uraraka's Quirk gives her the ability to manipulate gravity. She has 5 small pads on her fingertips, by touching all five pads, she can completely deprive the target of her weight, although this ability has its limitations. If the weight of the object exceeds three tons, it can cause nausea. But the greatest difficulty is to make yourself weightless, as this action instantly causes a severe attack of vomiting.

Tenya Ida

UA student. A1 class student.

Appearance: Tenya is a young man of average height with a muscular build. He has dark blue hair and wears rectangular half-frame glasses. His eyes are also somewhat rectangular, like his jaw.

Personality: He may appear stern, but he is actually a very honest, determined, diligent, intelligent, and serious person. He tends to take everything very seriously. Because of this, he has a habit of jumping to conclusions and then enthusiastically speaking or acting based on those conclusions. For example, after his assumption that Izuku had figured out the true nature of the entrance exams, Tenya acknowledged him as a worthy partner and has respected him greatly ever since.

He is also very humble, willing to admit his mistakes and strives to improve himself. This became clear after Tenya admitted that seeking revenge on Stain was not the act of a true hero, and decided to leave his left arm unhealed as a reminder of his mistake and as motivation to achieve true heroism.

Tenya values honor and fair play, and agreed to use the aids Mei provided them during the Sports Festival match so they could fight equally. He does not like being manipulated, and was outraged that Mei used him to advertise her gadgets during the match.

Quirk: Engine. Tenya's Quirk manifests itself in the form of engines in his calves, giving him super speed. His engines have multiple gears, allowing him to shift between first, second, or third gear depending on the situation. Much like a real engine, his Quirk requires the exhaust pipes on his calves to remain clean in order to function properly.

Iida is the class representative of Class A1.

Izuku Midoriya

Student UA. Pupil of class A1.

Appearance: Izuku is a slightly short guy for his age, with a rounded face, small symmetrical freckles on both cheeks, large green eyes, and dark green curly hair that sticks out in different directions and casts noticeable shadows on itself. All these characteristic features give him a rather sloppy and at the same time energetic appearance. Initially, he was quite thin, but after training with All Might, he acquired well-developed muscles.

Personality: Izuku is a very timid, reserved, and polite guy. At the beginning of the story, due to being bullied as a child for being born without a Quirk, he appears withdrawn and expressionless, especially in front of Katsuki. As a teenager, Izuku was the target of bullying, the main initiator of which was Bakugo. But despite this, he continues to consider Katsuki his friend, and after entering UA and defeating him in the "Trial Battle", he became more confident and courageous. Izuku is also distinguished by diligence and a strong will. Izuku is incredibly goal-oriented. From the moment he decided to become a hero, he writes down everything he learns about Heroes and their Quirks in his notebooks, including the students of UA. He is very caring and will never abandon someone in trouble, even if he knows that he is not strong enough to protect them. When someone is in trouble, Izuku always tries to help, even though it's none of his business. He often does this on a whim, without immediately realizing what happened. Izuku has a habit of thinking about things that interest him for a long time, and muttering under his breath.

Quirk: One For All. Izuku's Quirk that he received from All Might. This Quirk grants him superhuman strength, agility, and mobility by channeling power through his body. With this Quirk, Izuku increases his physical abilities (strength, speed, stamina, and agility) to superhuman levels.

Momo Yaoirozu

UA student. A1 class student.

Appearance: Momo is a tall teenage girl with a mature build for her age. She has black hair with bangs on the right side that are tied back into a large spiky ponytail.

Personality: Momo is a level-headed and loyal individual with obvious leadership qualities. In difficult or dangerous situations, she is usually calm and level-headed, though she is capable of panicking. In her desire to be fair and help her classmates become better heroes, she can come across as overly harsh in her comments regarding the mistakes of others. She is also willing to help other students with their studies. Momo develops into a selfless heroine who realizes that saving others is one of the most important things, even if it means losing her temporary hero license. Momo is generally very level-headed, even in dangerous situations, such as when the villains attacked the USJ, she did not panic. When this happens, she will be hopelessly torn between different options, trying to figure out the smartest move, but will be unable to decide which one she should take. Momo is excited and excited about the opportunity to help her friends with their studies. She tends to casually show off how rich her family is, but those around her know that she does this by accident. Despite her mature personality and non-sense mannerisms, Momo can be found engaging in silly situations, such as cheerleading (though she doesn't express any enthusiasm for it).

Quirk: Creation. Momo's Quirk gives her the ability to create any non-living material from her exposed body parts through molecular manipulation of her fat cells. She claims that the more she eats, the more material she can work with. As long as she has an understanding of the structure of the material, she can create it, though it takes her longer and more of her skin surface to create larger objects.

Shot Todoroki

Student UA. Pupil of class A1.

Appearance: Shoto is a teenager of average height. He has medium-length hair that is evenly split between white on the right side and red on the left, which clearly reflects his Quirk. He has a burn scar on his left eye that he received as a child. He also has heterochromia. His left eye is turquoise and his right eye is gray.

Personality: Shoto is cold and aloof. His personality stems from his harsh upbringing. He is quite skilled in combat, being able to remain calm even when fighting true villains. Although he is brutal in combat, all of his actions are based on the ethics of heroism, which is why he always leaves his opponents frozen rather than kill them. After the events of the Sports Festival, Shoto still has a distant attitude towards others, but he has become noticeably more outgoing and kind, even gaining a sense of humor and occasionally smiling. Shoto had a deep distaste for his fire side, which he inherited from his father, as it symbolized his father's hatred towards him and his mother, as well as the fact that he was born to be a tool. Therefore, Shoto chose to rely only on the power of ice and not use his firepower in combat, to the point that he began covering his left arm and torso in ice in his first hero costume, symbolizing his rejection of his father.

Quirk: Ice and Fire. Todoroki's Quirk involves manipulating fire and ice.

His right side can create ice, which he can use in a variety of ways: to immobilize an opponent, to move quickly, and for other techniques that depend only on Shoto's imagination and abilities. The left half generates heat and allows Shoto to create and shoot streams of fire, just like his father. These flames also burn the owner, so in high temperatures he must use the ice side.

Fumikage Tokoyami

Student UA. Pupil of class A1.

Appearance: Fumikage is a relatively short character with a bird-like head, sharp "hair", a short beak, and human-like teeth. The rest of his body is no different from a human's.

Personality: Fumikage is reserved, serious, and focused by nature, and will outright ignore requests or questions that seem pointless to him in some way. However, after joining Izuku's team, he gradually changes and becomes more outgoing.

Loves darkness and everything connected with it. However, he is embarrassed by his preferences and refuses to show his classmates his gloomy room.

Fumikage knows his limits and knows when to retreat. He takes any serious advice and uses it to strengthen his quirk and improve his technique.

Quirk: Dark Shadow. Fumikage's Quirk. His body is a vessel for a shadow monster that he can materialize. Fumikage can use the dark shadow for a number of purposes, such as attack and defense. This shadow is sentient and has a limit, after which it returns to the body of the Quirk owner. Negative emotions (regret, resentment) only strengthen the shadow, making it uncontrollable, and Fumikage loses control over it.

The strength and power of the dark shadow depends on the absence of light nearby. During the day the shadow is weaker and easier to control, at night it is stronger, but harder to control.

Tsuyu Asui

UA student. A1 class student.

Appearance: Tsuyu is a fairly short, slender girl with frog-like features, manifested in the form of large oval eyes with completely black irises and a large mouth, similar to a real frog. A distinctive feature are her very large hands. She also has long dark green hair, which she usually ties in a bow at the back.

Personality: Asui is a simple and straightforward girl who always speaks her mind about situations and people. She prefers to be addressed by her first name, but only by people she considers (or wants to consider) friends. She usually addresses people with the respectful prefix "-chan", except for teachers and other respected individuals. Tsuyu often acts calm and collected, and is able to keep her cool in stressful situations, such as the villain attack on the USJ, and the League of Villains' invasion of the summer training camp. Recovery Girl describes her as "the perfect pillar of emotional support"[1]. However, she can sometimes show strong emotions when under great stress. Her statements can be unintentionally harsh due to her straightforwardness, causing her to feel guilty if she offends someone with her words. Her usual facial expression shows no emotion, making it difficult to understand her thoughts at certain times. When thinking or just curious, Asui has a habit of putting his index finger to his chin. He can also make a "kwa" sound as a monosyllabic response.

Quirk: Frog Form. Tsuyu's Quirk grants her the abilities of a frog, such as: Jumping great distances; The ability to stick to vertical surfaces; An extremely long and strong tongue, capable of lifting a person; The ability to vomit her stomach out; Secrete a mildly corrosive acid; The ability to naturally camouflage.

Hanta Sero

Student UA. Pupil of class A1.

Appearance: Hanta is a thin teenager of average height with dark, shoulder-length hair. He smirks almost constantly. According to Katsuki Bakugo[1] and Midnight[2], he has a flat face. The shape of his elbows, from which he shoots duct tape, also resembles tape dispensers.

Personality: Hanta is a simple and cheerful guy. He is prone to pathos and showing off his quirk from the best side. He is also quite talkative and sociable.

Quirk: Tape. Hanta's Quirk allows him to produce and rewind duct tape from special holes located on the elbows of both his arms. This tape is apparently much stronger than regular duct tape. With it, Hanta can travel long distances, climb high places, create sticky traps, and wrap and carry objects and even people. The downsides of this Quirk are unknown, but it seems that overusing it can cause Hanta pain.

Kyōka Jiro

UA student. A1 class student.

Appearance: Kyouka has short, straight purple hair in a hime-kato style with assorted bangs, black eyes with small pupils, and short eyebrows. In her ears, Kyouka wears; milky-white earphone plugs with orange tips. The plugs are able to change length and are used as part of her Quirk.

Personality: Kyouka is a self-confident, dispassionate, and rude individual. Kyouka's coldness and rudeness is mostly reserved for those who irritate her, particularly her classmate Denki Kaminari, who is often the target of her snarky comments. She can also be quite aggressive, and will use her Quirk to physically punish or restrain people, particularly Denki and Minoru Mineta. However, Kyouka can also be empathetic and considerate towards her friends. She is terrified of horror and has an aversion to nudity. Like Kyouka's parents, she has a great love for music (particularly rock) and can play several instruments. However, Kyouka has appeared somewhat self-conscious about her interests, mostly due to her perception of them as completely unrelated to heroism, though she has become more confident over time.

Kyouka may have a complex about her appearance, as she believes her figure is not as expressive as her classmates. For example, she was offended by the fact that Mineta did not mention her figure when he tried to peek into the girls' locker room.

Quirk: Ear Plugs. Kyoka's Quirk allows her to insert the plugs hanging from Kyoka's ears anywhere and channel the sound of her heartbeat, the vibrations of which can be devastating. The Quirk is versatile, with a range of up to 12 meters. Kyoka can also use the plugs as whips, which are durable and strong enough to shatter rock.

Minoru Mineta

Student UA. Pupil of class A1.

Appearance: Minoru is a dwarf-sized youth with a childish face, thin eyebrows, large eyes with completely black irises, a small upturned nose, and chubby cheeks. In place of his hair, he has 4 dark purple balls growing out, generally resembling a "Mohawk" hairstyle.

Personality: Minoru is a vulgarian and a pervert to the core, which greatly spoils the attitude of girls and some guys towards him, who consider his behavior too depraved. He is very often distracted by various vulgarities even at the moment of threat to his own life. The guy's determination and persistence increases many times over in those moments when he tries to spy on his classmates, which usually leads to painful results. Fame and women are his main motivation on the path to becoming a hero, which, by the way, he is not at all embarrassed about. In addition, Minoru can be a hypocrite and rude, especially at moments when he accuses someone of excessive depravity or when he voices his thoughts, completely without thinking about the fact that they can offend someone. He is extremely easy to panic in life-threatening moments, giving in to hysterics. Usually at such moments he overdoes the use of his quirk, which leads to severe bleeding from his head. Overall, Minoru is a weak fighter who will run away when faced with danger. However, he can sometimes pull himself together in the face of danger. Minoru is a fairly intelligent student, ranking in the top ten of Class 1-A in grades, despite being considered a blockhead by most of his classmates.

Quirk: Grape Hair. Minoru's Quirk allows him to grow very sticky balls on his head, the effect of which only he is immune to. The strength, duration, and stickiness depend on the user's state. However, overusing the Quirk causes his head to bleed profusely.

Yuga Aoyama

Student UA. Pupil of class A1.

Appearance: Yuga is a young man with a thin build and very feminine features. He has light blond hair, long eyelashes and indigo eyes.

Personality: Yuga Aoyama is a narcissistic and proud person who loves to be the center of attention, even though he is often simply ignored. He considers his quirk to be the brightest compared to the quirks of his classmates. Most of the time, his facial expression has a slight smile, and it does not disappear even in moments of fear. The guy is easily offended if you interrupt him during a conversation or ignore him. He tends to flaunt his origins, introducing French phrases into sentences. In fact, all of the above is just a mask that hides his true feelings. Yuga does not put himself above others and is perfectly aware that his quirk does not get along with his body at all, but he still dreams of one day becoming "normal" Yuga is not alien to kind-heartedness and compassion. Once, wanting to cheer up a classmate, he showed a somewhat strange[1] concern for Izuku, as he believed their Quirk problem was similar, and during the Yuga Provisional License Exam, he was willing to become bait just to give another classmate, Tenya, the opportunity to pass the exam.

Quirk: Belly Button Laser. A Quirk that allows the user to shoot a powerful, sparkling laser from their belly button. The biggest downside to his Quirk is that it cannot be activated for more than one second. Failure to do so results in severe abdominal pain, which is why Yuga has to wear a special support belt for the rest of his life.

Yugi's Hero Suit has expanded the Quirk's potential, allowing him to also fire lasers from his shoulders and knees.

Shota Aizawa

A professor in UA. Also a professional hero. Better known as the Eraser Hero: Eraser Hero and the homeroom teacher of Class 1-A in UA.

Appearance: A 30-year-old man with long black hair that falls to his shoulders and covers his face, his eyes are almost always half-closed, and there are dark bags under them. He is also quite pale. Shota is usually recognized by his exhausted appearance, which makes it seem like he just got out of bed. His hair looks disheveled, and his eyes are almost always tired. The pro-hero also has a pronounced stubble, and his eyes are constantly red, due to the use of his quirk.

Personality: He makes an ambiguous impression both at the first meeting and throughout the rest of the story, combining both the traits of a disorganized and reserved person, and an extremely strict teacher who demands maximum effort from his students, sometimes bordering on cruelty. Having his own beliefs, he always openly expresses them. He is primarily driven by logic, and does not believe in the need to maintain a neat appearance, filter his words or ideas for others. Often cold and indifferent to what is happening, shows little enthusiasm, preferring to take a nap in his sleeping bag and sometimes lets the students decide things themselves. Despite his apathetic traits, he sincerely cares about his students and tries his best to protect them from danger. He has repeatedly said that he believes in his students. It should be noted that none of the students of Class 1-A have yet been expelled, especially considering the experience of past years, when Aizawa expelled entire classes.

Quirk: Aizawa can erase other people's quirks by looking at them. If Aizawa blinks, the quirk will stop working.

Nickname: Eraserhead.

Toshinori Yagi

Toshinori Yagi, better known as All Might. Also a former #1 Pro Hero. Currently trains aspiring heroes at UA.

Appearance: In his hero form, Toshinori is an incredibly tall and super muscular man whose design resembles that of an American comic book hero. His hair on top of his head resembles spikes. In his real form, All Might is more vulnerable than in his hero form. Due to numerous surgeries, Toshinori has become very thin and weak. Toshinori has shaggy, splayed hair on most of his head. Due to the unexpected transformation, All Might is forced to wear clothes several times his size after his transformation. His shoe size remains the same as his height.

Personality: Toshinori's heroic personality stems from the stereotypes of American superheroes, in that they are colorful and dramatic. Always with a giant smile on his face, he acts like he can do anything, which borders on being obnoxious. Having been the center of attention for many years, he is also very friendly due to his popularity. However, when he reverts to his true form (after the previous battle), he becomes less energetic due to not having to hide his worries about the state of affairs around him and his constant coughing up of blood. Also, when in his true form, he avoids drawing general attention to himself, always afraid that others may find out about his current state of health. However, he remains a kind person who thinks of others, no matter what, striving to help and protect. Despite his anger, he made sure that his students felt safe, displaying his signature smile before a fight. Toshinori has a fatherly attitude towards his students. He also has a habit of adding the word "young" to his students' last names. He has incredible willpower and spirit, is polite, straightforward, and has a sense of humor. Quirk: One For All. All Might's Quirk, granting him superhuman strength, speed, and greatly increasing his agility.

Hizashi Yamada

Hizashi Yamada. Also known as Present Mic. A Pro Hero and English teacher at UA Academy.

Appearance: Hizashi Yamada is a tall man with spiky blond hair and a small mustache. He wears headphones and sunglasses. His eyes look like concentric circles.

His hero costume consists of a black jacket with a studded collar, black pants with a studded belt, and black fingerless gloves. Yamada has a device on his neck that allows him to direct sound in a specific direction.

Personality: Hizashi Yamada is a radio host. He is excitable and quite loud, no matter the situation. He often tries to fire up the listeners, but even if no one responds to him, he continues his speech. He seems more prone to violence against civilians (at least journalists) if they irritate him.

Quirk: Voice. Yamada's Quirk allows him to increase the volume of his voice, as well as create high-pitched sounds. The volume is loud enough to cause ear bleeding in humans. The only known weakness of the Quirk is that it is ineffective against anything underground, as sound travels very poorly there.

Nemuri Kayama (Midnight)

A professional heroine and a member of the UA faculty. She also served as a judge during the freshmen's performance at the sports festival.

Appearance: Midnight is a fairly curvy woman with long black hair and blue eyes. Her hero costume is very similar to that of a dominatrix. She wears a black, open-chested leotard over a white bodysuit that hugs her body and highlights her breasts, sheer black thigh-high stockings and high black boots, as well as a mask, belt and handcuffs. She often carries a small whip with her.

Personality: Midnight is quite flirtatious, but she has short but strong outbursts of anger, such as when someone reminds her of her age. She often acts out of emotion. She also has sadistic tendencies.

Quirk: Sleepy Scent. Midnight's Quirk allows her to put her opponents to sleep using the scent emanating from her skin. To activate, she only needs to rip her clothes anywhere. The Quirk has a stronger effect on men than women.

Director Nezu.

Nezu, better known as the Director, is a Pro Hero and the director of UA. He is an example of the rare case of an animal receiving a Quirk.

Appearance: Nezu appears to be a combination of several different animals, including a dog, mouse, and bear. He mostly resembles a humanoid mouse, but has dog-like paws and a bear-like face. He has black eyes with a large scar on the right side. He also has a long, thin tail. Nezu wears a sleek suit with large orange sneakers.

Personality: As befits his role as the headmaster of a hero academy, Nezu is an eccentric, polite, and persistent educator. He is quite aware of his odd appearance, and introduces himself by pointing it out. He can speak at great length when explaining or teaching. Nezu wrote an entire lecture on his educational theories regarding the balance between hero and mentor, which he happily discussed over tea. His dedication to education extends to evaluating villains, especially the young ones, and Nezu questions whether they can be set on the right path by being taught, though he admits the naivety of such an idea. He does not place himself on the front lines, and focuses on protecting the students. He understands that the strategy between the heroes' conflicts is enough to participate in the debriefing after an invasion.

Quirk: Intelligence. Nezu's Quirk gives him intelligence that surpasses that of humans. Despite being an animal, Nezu's Quirk allowed him to live in society like a normal human.
