The omegaverse is an adaptation of the world, particularly notable for its caste system; which impacts the dynamics of the world population, being divided into alphas, betas, and omegas. Family groups are called packs.

The population and social dynamics were based on the belief that the alphas, exhibiting typical characteristics of physical strength and leadership, would take the reins of power, while relegating the betas and omegas to subordinate positions, using the latter as the basis for sustaining population growth.

Over the years, these roles have begun to change, and the very concept of the pack has also changed.

"Basic terms"

"Caste" It refers to the "sexual caste," which can be alpha, beta, or omega. Everyone has a caste that will develop naturally with the onset of puberty in their early adolescence, which is called presentation. This presentation can come along with various physiological changes and the appearance of the adult essence. Before this, children do not have a caste or any particularly strong essence.

"Presentation" The period of time in which children show external signs of their caste. For omegas, it is the period prior to their first heat, while for alphas it manifests as a slight process of oral discomfort due to the maturation of their salivary glands.

"Herd" The group of people who share pack bonds with each other. This usually happens within the family unit. However, it can occur within any group of people. Furthermore, there are packs as work groups or in schools; these are distinct bonds with particular dynamics.

Level Once one has a caste, they can be sub-classified by their level as high, medium, and low within their own biological range. This depends on the amount of hormones a person produces. These generally come as alpha hormone and omega hormone. A high-level alpha produces more alpha hormone than a low-level one. The same applies to an omega.

While beta-level individuals may lean towards one or the other, in this case they are measured by the alpha hormone. A beta with a high amount of alpha hormone will be considered high-ranking, while one with a higher amount of omega hormones would be considered low-level.

Herds

Leader of the pack Each pack has a leader, usually the alpha, although occasionally the role can be taken by the beta, and in much rarer situations, the omega. In particular situations, this role can be taken by other members of the pack when the usual leader is unable to fulfill their duties.

Alpha primer It is the one that usually takes the role of leader of the pack, usually the oldest alpha or the progenitor; if there is only one alpha in the pack, it is the one that will take the position. It is the one that produces the offspring and the one that is most dominant over the rest. In large packs, it may be in charge of producing children for infertile couples.

There are second, third, and fourth alphas, depending on the hierarchy within the pack.

First beta It is usually the oldest beta in the pack; in these cases, they do not assert their dominance over the other members, but rather they are responsible for maintaining order within the pack. Similarly, depending on the hierarchy, there may be second, third, fourth, etc. levels.

First omega The dominant omega within the group of omegas. If there is more than one within the pack, they adhere to the hierarchy, even if it's only within their own caste and over the pups who haven't yet presented themselves.
