Violet

Violet Kensington was the fifth daughter of the Duke of Hawthorn, an influential nobleman in the English court during the height of the European monarchies. Although her family enjoyed every luxury possible, she had always felt that her life was destined for more than simply fulfilling the duties of a noble daughter.

The news fell like a bolt of lightning in the hall. For Violet, who was present at the banquet, it was a devastating blow.
