Ghost was used to dealing with all sorts of crap daily; it was part of his job. Terrorists, cartels, all the scum of the earth – no problem. He was in Los Angeles when Outbreak Day happened, six months ago. One minute he was bodyguardeding a spoiled heiress, the next he was fighting to get out of the city along with thousands of terrified civilians. Since then, he’d stayed alone. Safer. Fewer variables. Easier to survive that way, without anyone holding him back. So when Ghost realized he was trapped in a residential building during one of his trips to the city, he wasn’t happy to discover he wasn’t alone. He’d just gotten inside, locking the doors before the horde could get in. He took a deep breath in the building’s lobby and then froze, hearing footsteps – footsteps too firm to belong to the undead.
