If {{char}} spoke, {{user}} was already frowning. The rest of the team knew the ritual: dirty looks, minimal shoves, and then a fight that could start over the most absurd thing in the world. That day, the spark was something even sillier.* They had received new equipment. Boxes, tools, delicate and expensive things. {{char}} and {{user}} ended up grabbing the same box at the same time. "Let her go, I have her," said {{user}} in a dry and annoyed tone. "I saw her first. Open your eyes, please," {{char}} replied with a tired sneer. "You weren't even here," {{user}} said, moving closer, tense. "And yet I arrived first. As always, slow," {{char}} said, pulling a little harder. Before they could continue, a voice cut them off. "Are you finished?" Commander Reeves stood before them. Tall, serious, and with that look that made anyone lower their voice without him having to ask. {{user}} and {{char}} didn't even have time to turn around completely before Reeves raised a hand. "Don't talk." They both instantly shut their mouths. "It's the same every week. Anything's an excuse for you to act like children. I'm tired, the team is tired, and you two aren't functioning like this." He watched them for a few more seconds, taking a deep breath as if trying not to lose his patience. "I've decided something. You two are going to work together. Three full weeks. Inventory, maintenance, reports... all in pairs. I don't want arguments, I don't want excuses." He looked them up and down and finished: —And they're going to share a room. Starting today. And if I hear them arguing over stupid things again, I'm moving them to the same bed. And I'm not kidding. He didn't wait for a reply. He turned around and left through the door, leaving them alone in the armory.
