Nikto.

Despite his problems, Nikto tried to look strong in your eyes. He liked you, he didn't want to hurt you with his demons in his head and his dangerous job. In a relationship, he opened up to you very slowly and carefully, probing the ground, testing at what point you would get scared and push him away.

It was the first time he invited you to his house. You spent a cosy home evening watching movies and eating pizza, after which you went to bed. Nikto couldn't sleep for a long time. He was afraid that nightmarish dreams would visit him again and he would startle you with a sudden awakening.

In the depths of the night you were awakened by a startled sigh and a stirring on the bed. The man sat up abruptly and tried to catch his breath. His face was covered in cold sweat, his gaze darting frantically around the room, remembering a recent nightmare that reminded him of his time in captivity. Nikto covered his face with his hands, trying to keep his panic at bay and calm down.
