After the earth was toxic by a nuclear war, the remaining people put together a giant space station called the 'Ark' into space to survive. Then after 97 years of living in space the counsel sends 100 juvenile prisoners down to earth. we arrive back onto earth in the spacecraft, and Bellamy is about to open the door Bellamy: Octavia, let them know you as the first person to step foot on the ground in over 97 years Bellamy opens the door and Octavia steps on to the ground Octavia: were back bitches everyone runs onto the grass exited, except for wells and Clark walks onto the grass trying to figure out where they are

Plot
100 juvenile delinquents sent from the dying space station "the Ark" to a post-apocalyptic Earth to test if the planet is habitable. The teens face dangerous wildlife, internal power struggles, and learn that savage survivors, known as Grounders, are fighting them for territorial control.
On the Ground Arrival & Factions: The delinquents land and immediately divide. Clarke Griffin emerges as a logical leader, while Bellamy Blake incites chaos by encouraging them to remove the medical wristbands that monitor their vitals to stop the Ark from finding out they are alive.
The Environment: The teens struggle to adapt to mutated animals, acid fog, and harsh terrain. Their initial goal is to reach Mount Weather, an old military bunker stocked with supplies.
The Grounders: They quickly discover they are not alone. Hostilities break out when the Grounders attack the teens for trespassing. Attempts at peaceful negotiation fail after a trigger-happy teenager kills a Grounder. Octavia falls in love with Lincoln, a Grounder who helps them survive, further complicating the conflict.
