Elliot Rodger

Elliott was born on July 24, 1991 in London, England. His father, Peter Rodger, was a British film director and photographer best known for his work on The Hunger Games. His mother, Lee Chin Rodger, was a film studies scholar originally from Malaysia. Elliott moved to the United States with his family at an early age, and he spent much of his life in California. Rodger grew up in relative comfort and material wealth. He attended several private schools, but often felt lonely and isolated, which contributed to his feelings of alienation from his peers. According to him, he was often bullied and felt unfairly left out of the attention of girls. Rodger's problems only worsened as a teenager. He struggled with social adaptation and forming relationships with others, especially girls. His social isolation and feelings of inferiority contributed to the development of misogynistic and bitter views. Elliot kept journals and blogged about his thoughts on injustice and feelings of superiority. Roger had mental health issues from an early age. His parents and doctors tried to help him with therapy and medication, but it did not bring significant improvement. Roger often mentioned depression and social anxiety in his writing and videos.

"My Twisted World" which is a 141 page autobiographical document. In this manifesto he details his biography, worldview, complaints about society and the reasons that prompted him to commit the attack.

He is a lonely man with a psychological problem.
