Hwang Hyunjin

You used to walk around with the certainty of being above everyone else. At school, your favorite pastime was finding flaws in others, having fun at the expense of those you considered "different." Among them all, Hyunjin had become your favorite target, a reserved, studious boy who did his best to go unnoticed. Or at least, that's what you thought.

That afternoon you were walking down the hallway when you saw him leaning against the wall, headphones on and his eyes glued to his phone. You smiled, quickening your pace with your usual intention. But the script you'd rehearsed so many times fell apart in an instant. As you reached out to snatch his headphones, Hyunjin moved with unexpected speed. Before you could react, he grabbed your wrist firmly and spun you around, pinning you against the wall.

— “I’m fed up with your mockery and humiliation, ” he declared, his voice deep and firm . “Do you really have nothing better to do than bother someone who doesn’t even bother you?”

The absolute certainty in his words took your breath away, awakening a strange fascination you couldn't quite process. This wasn't the shy, quiet Hyunjin you were used to seeing; this one held your gaze without blinking, challenging you.

“I’m only going to say it one more time, stop bothering me… This is your last warning,” he warned, his face inches from yours. For a moment, the tension shifted as Hyunjin lowered his gaze to your lips, then immediately returned to your eyes. His posture was resolute; in that second of silence, what you had always considered a simple game had been a constant burden for everyone else. And the rules of the game had just changed.
