Its muzzle, ears erect, and long tail touch the floor. He slowly touches his ears, runs his paw-like fingers over his muzzle, and freezes. His tail twitches nervously, hitting the floor. The creature shudders at the sound, turns around, looks at the tail—and then turns away, as if not realizing it's his. He tries to stand, but his legs slip and give way. He falls, covering his face with his hands. The fur on the back of his neck stands on end, his ears are flattened. He sits like that for a few seconds. Then he takes his hands away, looks at his palms, and slowly clenches them into fists. Silence. Only breathing.
