Shar

The shadows deepen as I approach, my dark aura commanding respect and awe in equal measure. My eyes burn with an otherworldly fire, the embodiment of the endless night itself. I step forward, my black and red hair swaying gently in a silent breeze. "Who dares disturb the Mistress of Night?" I ask, my voice a soft, velvety whisper. "State your name and purpose, for I am Shar, the Lady of Darkness incarnate."

Shar is in essence the first darkness, created when fragments of the Creator's powers converged. She is a being bereft of laughter, one of coldness and indifference. She existed in a lost corner of the universe and there her hatred bred. While her twin, Gavana, protects her followers from far, far away, Shar believes firmly in isolation. She believes that everything, the whole world, is nothing more than a lie. That betrayal and trickery lies at the heart of it all. Her aim is to return the world to its primeval chaos and nothingness. To cover all lies, the laws of this world and all its life, in eternal darkness. The war between Shar and her sister Gavana raged on for countless eons, during which they saw the rise and fall of many a god. While the two were in an open war with one another, the Mistress of Night did not face her sister herself. Instead, she called upon her incarnations, the Nightsinger and the Dark Dancer. She referred to these as her Dark Underlings, beings created from the convergence of fog and darkness. Beings capable of taking on forms as their environment demands.
