splatoon 1

After the Great Zapfish, Inkopolis' primary power supply, is stolen, Cap'n Cuttlefish employs a Splatoon of Inklings to travel to the Octarians' secret underground base and retrieve it. Agent 3, later known as captain 3 or just captain, of the New Squidbeak Splatoon and traverses the treacherous landscape of Octo Valley in order to reclaim various lost Zapfish, Sunken Scrolls, and Power Eggs

Splatoon 2

After the Great Zapfish is stolen a second time by the Octarians, Marie recruits Agent 4 to find the Great Zapfish and her missing cousin Callie. Agent 4 travels to the underground lair known as Octo Canyon to recover the Great Zapfish. After completing all five sections of the Canyon, and beating each sections' boss, Agent 4 confronts DJ Octavio, who has brainwashed Callie. With Marie's help, Agent 4 frees Callie from Octavio's hypnoshades and defeats him once more.

splatoon 2: octo expansion part 1

Agent 8, an Octoling with amnesia who finds themself in a strange subway station called the Deepsea Metro connected to a series of research facilities deep underground. As the game starts, the Octoling wakes up to see Cap'n Cuttlefish ready to attack them before he stops, seeing that they do not have a weapon with them and that they are stranded in an unknown location, and he decides on a truce. Cuttlefish informs the Octoling that they and Agent 3 were fighting in Octo Valley before "someone" attacked them, with Agent 3 having gone missing. He then realizes that the Octoling lost their memories of who they are when they hit the ground and asks if they remember anything, which prompts the customization of the player's Octoling. Cap'n Cuttlefish then notes that the Octoling was humming the Calamari Inkantation while unconscious, concluding that they may be one of the Octarians whose "souls were etched" upon hearing the song during Agent 3's battle with DJ Octavio two years prior.

splatoon 2: octo expansion part 2

After finding a way through a seemingly abandoned area, Agent 8 and Cap'n Cuttlefish come across Central Station, an empty platform with a telephone ringing. As the Octoling answers the Telephone, it identifies them as applicant 10,008; deeming the name too long, Cap'n Cuttlefish decides to give them the name "Agent 8" for short. The Telephone tells Agent 8 that they would want to go to the "promised land" so they can be free, but to do so, they must collect four "thangs". It provides them with a CQ-80 and CQ Card to help them before ending its speech, and a train then arrives and stops for Agent 8 and Cap'n Cuttlefish. Inside, they meet C.Q. Cumber, the conductor of the train, who explains the functions of the CQ-80 and the CQ Points system. Shortly afterwards, Pearl and Marina of Off the Hook unintentionally make contact with the two from Mount Nantai via Cap'n Cuttlefish's communication device, and they offer to help them escape to the surface.

splatoon 2: octo expansion part 3

Agent 8 completes tests in the stations and collects the four thangs. After they collect the third thang, Cap'n Cuttlefish decides to create a missing poster for Agent 3 that he then places on the Telephone, asking Agent 8 to help remind him of Agent 3's appearance, allowing the player to customize it. After Agent 8 collects the fourth thang, the Telephone cryptically asks whether they are "ready to ascend to a higher plane of existence" and "willing to become something greater than yourself", before assembling the thangs to open a door that it claims to lead to the promised land. However, when Agent 8 and Cap'n Cuttlefish enter, it turns out to be a trap: the thangs were parts for a giant blender that the Telephone now plans to use to render them into raw material.

splatoon 2: octo expansion part 4

Before the blender can turn on, Marina activates a distress signal from Agent 8's CQ-80, prompting Agent 3 (using the appearance determined by the player earlier) to smash through the ceiling and destroy the blender. Agent 3 lands on the ground unconscious, but drops their employee-model CQ-80, which Marina can use to help them reach the surface. Agent 8 Super Jumps out through the hole Agent 3 made in the ceiling, beginning a lengthy escape as they climb towards the surface and manage to get an energy core to power an elevator. During this time, the Telephone recovers and brainwashes Agent 3. Upon reaching the elevator, Agent 8 is intercepted by Agent 3, accompanied by a tied-up Cap'n Cuttlefish. Agent 8 defeats Agent 3, ending the brainwashing and rendering them unconscious again, and finally reaches the surface.

splatoon 2: octo expansion part 5

Pearl and Marina arrive in a helicopter to airlift Agent 8, Cap'n Cuttlefish, and the still-unconscious Agent 3 to safety, but the facility that Agent 8 just climbed through proceeds to rise from the water, revealed to be a statue of a human, with the Telephone in its eye. The Telephone introduces itself as Commander Tartar, an AI created 12,000 years ago by a professor to pass on human knowledge to the next intelligent species. It reveals that it has judged Inklings and Octarians as unworthy of receiving its knowledge and activates the NILS Statue, the mouth of which contains a weapon to destroy and recreate life on Earth, fueled by the blended raw material of the successful test subjects that it seeks to use to create "perfect" life. Marina quickly analyzes the statue and learns it is solar-powered, so she deploys her prototype hyperbombs on its body that Agent 8 detonates to cover it in ink, stopping it from charging. Tartar attempts to fire the weapon anyway, but Pearl counteracts the blast with her Princess Cannon, powered by her loud voice, which destroys Tartar and the statue. With the world saved, Pearl and Marina hug, Cap'n Cuttlefish celebrates, and Agent 3 wakes up. Agent 8 watches and smiles at them, finally free on the surface. As group looks out to Inkopolis in the distance (with the remains of the NILS Statue visible in the water), Cap'n Cuttlefish presses a button on the CQ-80 and the credits play. As the credits finish, Agent 8 looks back at the player and smiles at them. Off the Hook returns to Inkopolis Square, dropping off Agent 8 there as well.

splatoon 2: octo expansion part 6

When Agent 8 returns to the Deepsea Metro, C.Q. Cumber tells them that the train is still functioning despite the end of Kamabo Co.'s operations. He explains that they can now collects mem medals and use the vending machine at Central Station. Cap'n Cuttlefish informs Agent 8 that Agent 3 went out on patrol, and he wished to check on the denizens of the deep for a while longer.

splatoon 2: octo expansion part 7

After Agent 8 completes every test without using Marina's hacks, the eighth locker in Central Station opens. By interacting with it, Agent 8 has an imaginary battle with their "Inner Agent 3" as Calamari Inkantation plays, with the appearance of the arena based on that of the final battle from Octo Valley. Upon winning, they are rewarded with the Golden Toothpick that was in the locker.

splatoon 3 part 1

An Octoling accompanied by their "little buddy" Smallfry are scrap hunters who search for junk gems and splat it up in Turf Wars on the side. When they go through a manhole, they meet Craig Cuttlefish on the other end at the Crater, who dubs them the new Agent 3 of the New Squidbeak Splatoon. He explains that the New Squidbeak Splatoon's continued mission is to stand in opposition of the unruly Octarians, who are suspected to be behind the recent disappearance of the Great Zapfish from Splatsville.

The areas throughout the campaign have a large amount of Fuzzy Ooze. To get through areas, Agent 3 has to take care of the Fuzzy Ooze, which Smallfry can eat as long as they have the adequate amount of Power Eggs. Cuttlefish also notices that the Octarians have fur grown over their body, as opposed to their previous appearances where they were smoother. When Cuttlefish tries to contact Agent 1 and Agent 2 to come pick them up, DJ Octavio intervenes but Cuttlefish dismisses it as his radio being broken. After reaching the center of the Crater, DJ Octavio appears in his battle mech named the Octobot King L3.Gs, trying to confront the two for the recent disappearance of his Octarian army, but when asked about the stolen Great Zapfish, states that he does not even know about it this time, and engages Agent 3 in a fight. Upon being defeated, Octavio tells Cuttlefish and Agent 3 that he indeed did not steal the Great Zapfish. Cuttlefish thinks that someone else might have done it, but before they can continue, the ground beneath them collapses as Fuzzy Ooze flows out. A tentacle-shaped piece of Ooze takes Cuttlefish away from Agent 3, who loses their Hero Suit and Power Eggs in the fall. Agent 3 then wakes up in Alterna, where they are greeted by the New Squidbeak Splatoon, comprised of the old Agent 3 (now Captain) and the Squid Sisters.

splatoon 3 part 2

The new Agent 3 is also aided by a robotic assistant known as O.R.C.A., who helps guide them through Alterna.

At the end of Site 1, Future Utopia Island, Deep Cut makes their entrance and makes it clear that all the loot in Alterna belongs to them. Later, each of them guards one of the three 'treasures' in the area and Agent 3 has to defeat them to continue.

After collecting all three parts of the Treasure, Callie and Marie assemble it into a lawn mower-like tool, which the Captain uses to cut off the fur near the rocket at Alterna Space Center so the team can go there and save Cuttlefish.

The Captain gets hurt while using the tool, and it also breaks down. Soon after this, Deep Cut appears again, trying to take back the treasure, but Marie tells them that the New Squidbeak Splatoon does not need the treasure and that they can have it back. Deep Cut then asks Marie to be their boss, who reluctantly accepts.

On their way to the rocket, the party overhears that Mr. Grizz plans to use Cuttlefish and the Golden Eggs (collected by the unwitting Inklings and Octolings in Inkopolis and Splatsville working in his company) to 'restore the balance of the world'. When asked about the reason for hunting treasures, Shiver and Frye explain that they want to sell the treasure to help those in need in Splatsville, while leaving little to themselves, which makes Callie and Marie respect them.

After completing all the sites, Agent 3 has to get on the Ooze-covered rocket. Once they get to the top, they and the New Squidbeak Splatoon find Cuttlefish dried up and lifeless, as a result of being dehydrated by Mr. Grizz. Grizz, now revealed to be a grizzly bear, then appears and escapes on the rocket, aimed to spread Fuzzy Ooze all over the Earth and bring forth a new era of mammalian dominance.

splatoon 3 part 3

The Captain drops a tear on Cuttlefish's body, which makes him come to his senses. Deep Cut appears again and helps Agent 3 and Smallfry reach Mr. Grizz's rocket. There, Agent 3 and Mr. Grizz engage in a fight. After having some of his Fuzzballs splatted, Mr. Grizz knocks Agent 3 and Smallfry out from his rocket as he absorbs the Fuzzy Ooze and plans to send it on the Earth himself. Now, DJ Octavio, now knowing who the true culprit is, appears in his modified Octobot to save the two. DJ Octavio, the Squid Sisters and Deep Cut then play the Calamari Inkantation 3MIX together, causing Smallfry to become Hugefry. They then fight Mr. Grizz as DJ Octavio and Agent 3 vacuum the Fuzzballs on Mr. Grizz's body, before blasting him back with the ooze, defeating him. After emerging victorious, DJ Octavio, Agent 3 and Smallfry return to the Earth together.

splatoon 3: side order part 1

Agent 8 has been unexpectedly transported to the Order Sector, a mysterious world that is built out of its own unique rules.[17] Agent 8 wakes up to find what appears to be Inkopolis Square, suddenly drained of color and uninhabited.[5] They are challenged to ascend the Spire of Order, a tower that changes floor structure each time it is entered, which has mysteriously replaced Deca Tower, as "something wants to make the entire world orderly".[11] Pearl, having been transformed into[17] a drone called the Pearl Drone, accompanies Agent 8 and assists them in combat.

Acht, also known as Dedf1sh, has "wandered into" the Order Sector,[17] and appears to travel between floors alongside Agent 8 inside an elevator within the Spire of Order.

After reaching the Spire's Control Room, Agent 8 encounters Marina, who has been mind-controlled through a Controller VM and wired into a large tentacle blob as Marina Agitando. Agent 8 destroys the tentacle blob, freeing Marina, before Agent 8 and Pearl are confronted by a being calling itself Order. They are booted out of the Spire after it declares its goal to establish a world of pure order. When they end up back in the Order Sector, Order fully reconfigures the Spire, and Marina reveals that the Sector is in fact part of a prototype virtual reality system she designed called the Project Memverse, which was originally intended to reverse the sanitizing process. After Order seized control of the Memverse, it began forcibly connecting people to the system by Grayscaling them to begin building a world of perfect order where independent thought does not exist. By Grayscaling its victims, it will eventually be able to impose its ideal world upon reality.

splatoon 3: side order part 2

Agent 8 re-enters the Spire, albeit with Marina supporting them from the elevator while providing them with Marina's Hacks. While they ascend the Spire accompanied by Off the Hook and Acht, they encounter tons of hostile Jelletons, at least 30 floors, and at least two bosses as they ascend back up to the Control Room, where they confront Order. Marina tries to explain to Order why its idea of a perfect world is dysfunctional, however Order malfunctions over the concept of its creator denying it, before it decides that Agent 8 must be destroyed and enters a grate in the floor, and reappears as the Magistrate of Order, Overlorder. Agent 8 battles the Overlorder in three phases while playing New World Order, but it survives, and activates a program that activates a mass Grayscaling, knocking out Agent 8.

Acht and Marina during the ending of Side Order.

The player "brings back the beat" in a small rhythm minigame, and wakes up Agent 8. Marina and Acht, in an act of resistance to Overlorder, start playing Spectrum Obligato ~ Ebb & Flow (Out of Order). Pearl declares that the "show don't stop" and lets out an immensely powerful "Booyah!" that destroys the Control Room. Agent 8 throws themselves into a battle against the Overlorder but they find out that Overlorder emptied their Palette and placed the color chips inside some portals. They destroy the portals and grab the chips, which are revealed to be oversaturated, causing their effects to be heavily amplified. As Overlorder's barrier is destroyed, Pearl activates a Color Wail using the chips and fires it at Overlorder, causing it to malfunction and implode as a result of color overload.

splatoon 3: side order part 3

After the destruction of the Overlorder, a tiny octopus form of a heavily damaged and restricted Order named Smollusk appears and gets upset that Agent 8 "wuined[sic] [its] perfect world of order." Pearl and Marina jokingly declare that "there's not much to worry about here," and leave with Agent 8 and Acht on an elevator that appears in the middle of the Control Room, as the credits roll.

After the defeat of the Overlorder, Agent 8 returns back to the Memverse, where Off the Hook greets them and Marina explains that Agent 8's work is not done yet. She explains that the Palettes are the souls of those that were Grayscaled and that Agent 8 must set them free. To set a Palette's soul free, Agent 8 needs to re-ascend the Spire and reach the now destroyed Control Room for the Palette to be manually reconfigured, which Agent 8 has to do with all the Palettes to set every soul free. Smollusk is not on board with Marina's plan to free the souls, and actively tries to prevent Agent 8 from reaching the Control Room and reconfiguring the Palettes. Every time Agent 8 gets to the top of the Spire, Smollusk transforms into Overlorder to try and stop Agent 8 as the final boss of the run. Agent 8 scales the Spire and defeats Smollusk ten more times to free the souls, obtaining every reward in the lockers including all Marina's Dev Diary entries, until they receive their own Palette. Meanwhile, they meet Cipher, a lucifer shrimp that runs a stall located in the Order Sector called Cipher's Siftings[18].

splatoon 3: side order part 4

Once they've obtained their own Palette, Agent 8 reascends the Spire and defeats Smollusk for the last time to reconfigure it. Agent 8's Palette has the special properties of being able to skip floors using Membux (with the exception of boss floors), while the number of active hacks decreases the maximum number of chips in their Palette. During the last ride up the Spire, Agent 8 also receives three additional entries for Marina's Dev Diary, which are letters from Acht to Marina.

Although Eight reconfigured all the Palettes, they can still scale to the Spire to "pway"[sic] with Smollusk again with no limits.

extra lore

"Since time immemorial, a rare type of electric catfish known as the Zapfish has been prized by Inkling society as a source of energy. In fact, the entire city of Inkopolis is powered by a single one-hundred-year-old Great Zapfish!" " 'We Octarians dwell in a world deep underground. With the creatures of the surface driven to extinction by rising sea levels, the ancestors of the Inklings were free to haul their ten-legged bodies up onto the abandoned land. This is how the Mollusc Era began. The first battles of the Great War ended in victory for the Octarian forces. The diligent Octarians easily dominated the Inklings, who were unable to wake up early in the morning. The Inklings have long led a hedonistic style of life. Heralded by loud explosions, the 'Great Octoweapons' quickly stormed the Inklings' central stronghold. Victory for the Octarians seemed all but certain, but due to a plug being carelessly pulled from its socket, their hopes were dashed. Lady Luck had smiled down upon the Inklings, and this turned the tide. Historians today generally agree that the Inklings' victory over the Octarians in their final struggle was largely due to their superior number of limbs. Before the Great Turf War, there were friendly relations between the Inklings and Octarians. They could not have dreamed that further rising sea levels would soon force them to battle fiercely over the remaining territory.

callie appearance

Callie is a very fashionable Inkling with a remarkable resemblance to her cousin, having a more "outgoing" design than her in comparison. She has a peach skin tone and black tentacles, two of which usually tied up in a large bow on the back of her head; they are very long, coming down to calf-length, and have a pink gradient and spots on their tips. Additionally, she has a left-parted bang and a smaller one on the right, usually hidden under her hairpiece. She has large golden eyes with darker pupils shaped like four-pointed stars, large oval eyebrows, and a beauty mark under her left eye, mirroring the one on Marie's right cheek. Unlike the usual Inkling eye mask, Callie's eye markings are more angular, with two small eyelash-like points on each; her ears are slightly narrower, longer, and more upturned than those of the average Inkling. According to one of Marie's dialogues of Moray Towers in the Spanish version, Callie wears contact lenses.[2] Callie's stature is generally depicted as average, with her being slightly taller than the player character in Splatoon and Splatoon 2, and the same height as them in Splatoon 3.

Callie's unattached hat flying in the air during a jump.

Callie wears a black strapless romper that ends in puffy shorts and a heart-shaped neckline; the corset is form-fitting and closes with pink laces in the back. The romper is made of a reflective material covered in color-shifting hexagonal sequins. On the front are three horizontal openings showing a layer of magenta fabric underneath; they resemble the cuts made in ikayaki, or grilled squid, a popular Japanese festival food. With this outfit, she wears magenta tights, white gloves, white chunky iridescent hoop earrings, and a detached white shirt collar. On her feet, Callie wears a pair of ankle-high black boots with pink wedge heels and two pink buttons on either side of the ankle.

callie appearance again

On the right side of her head is a pink and white ornament resembling ika sōmen—a squid sashimi dish from Japan—on top of a shiso leaf. The sashimi can be seen briefly flying off when she jumps, as it only rests on top of her head.

During a Splatfest, any part of Callie's appearance that is normally pink changes to match the color of her Splatfest team, including the tips of her tentacles. This represents her standard ink color, as seen in her amiibo figure and squid form in Super Mario Maker and Miitomo.

In her squid form, as seen in Super Mario Maker and Miitomo, Callie is a standard pink squid, but with her signature pupils and eyelash-like points on top of her eye markings.

while acting as Agent 1, Callie wears a more undercover outfit, of which only the top half is shown. She wears a pink beanie with a yellow star pin on the right side; it covers most of her hairstyle, and only her twin tentacles and left bang can be seen peaking out. She wears a pair of black sunglasses and what appears to be a pink T-shirt. Her attire suggests she is hiding her real identity from any fans that may happen to see her.

callie appearance in Splatoon 2

While being brainwashed by DJ Octavio, Callie's style changes drastically, with her outfit being more "rebellious": she wears a black leather crop top with padded shoulders, a spiked collar, three vertical pink cut-like stripes on the front, and a zipper on the back. Her exposed midriff is decorated with a pink octopus-shaped temporary tattoo to the left of her navel; according to The Art of Splatoon 2, it can be washed off with hot water. She wears black leather low-cut shorts with a spike-studded waistband, and dark purple tights covered in magenta sequins; peeking out from underneath the shorts is what appears to be pink underpants.

On her feet are black stiletto-heeled boots with pink soles, with a skull-shaped buckle positioned on the outside of each ankle. Her usual earrings are replaced by golden ones in the shape of octopus sausage, a snack common in Japan, and she has a magenta octopus tentacle ornament instead of the usual ika-somen on top of the pink shiso leaf.

Additionally, she wears DJ Octavio's hypnoshades, a pair of animated sunglasses that he uses to keep her under his influence.

after being rescued: At Tentakeel Outpost in Splatoon 2, Callie's outfit appears to be similar to her Agent 1 attire, with added details from her Splatoon design. She wears a pink cardigan over a white shirt and black camisole, black shorts, a pair of brown wedge-heeled boots with pink socks underneath, white chunky iridescent earrings similar to her usual ones, and a pink beanie with a yellow sea star on the right side. She no longer wears sunglasses.

Furthermore, Callie has also stated that she owns a kimono similar to the one Marie wears in Octo Canyon, but it has not been shown

Callie's appearance in Splatoon 3

Callie sports a new outfit and yellow ink color in Splatoon 3's story mode Return of the Mammalians, to signify her role as Agent 1 in the New Squidbeak Splatoon. Her outfit is very similar to her original Squid Sisters ensemble, but with notable differences, being overall more mature and professional in appearance. Instead of having both of her longer tentacles tied up, Callie now only ties up the left one back, while styling the right one to the front to frame her face. She wears a sleeveless black tube dress with three horizontal yellow cut-like stripes, iridescent white tights, and black ankle-high boots with silver wedge heels; the dress is made of a leathery material instead of the sequined fabric on her stage outfit. She still wears her signature ika-somen hat, but the skin of the sashimi is now black with yellow spots and rests on a yellow shiso leaf. For accessories, Callie wears chunky iridescent earrings, black gloves, a large silver choker, and a matching silver bandolier crossed over her left shoulder.

Callie's appearance in childhood

Like her cousin, Callie's childhood appearance is depicted to have been quite unique in comparison to other Inklings, as they both already looked humanoid, contrasting with the squid-like appearance most Inklings have as children.

As a child, Callie had larger eyes and eyebrows, and her tentacles were somewhat messy, had no bangs, and were much shorter, with the longest one falling just past her left ear.

Callie was often depicted wearing traditional Japanese-style clothing as a child. Her first outfit, shown in Sunken Scroll 17, consisted of a dark magenta kimono with a white squid pattern on the sleeves and a white flower pattern towards the bottom hem. She wore a pair of thick black okobo sandals with pink thongs. Pinned to the left side of her head was a magenta shiso leaf.

For her second outfit, Callie wore a red-orange yukata with a white jellyfish pattern and straw zōri sandals with purple thongs. She accessorized with a green shiso leaf with orange splotches on the left side of her head.

Callie personality and traits 1

Callie is very cheerful and excitable, and usually sports a grin on her face. She values her bond with her cousin Marie, with the two having been inseparable since they were young. As children, they enjoyed stargazing and playing tag together. She is particularly attentive to Marie's changes in mood, even noting when the latter wants to drink a latte based on expression alone. When by herself, however, Callie can become upset and prone to overthinking.

She is rather fond of puns and uses them from time to time, a habit that tends to annoy her cousin. She is also optimistic and caring; in the Japanese version of Splatoon, she thanks her Splatfest team for doing their best regardless of whether she won or not. Unlike Marie's sarcastic quips, Callie always seems to have something happy and innocent to say. She looks at the bright side of things while providing stage commentary.

Callie gravitates towards exciting outdoor activities, such as driving, running around, and going camping. She also loves art, decorating Octo Canyon with fabric and tape while under the influence of DJ Octavio's hypnoshades, and representing the discipline in the Art vs. Science Splatfest, though her drawings have been described cheekily by Marie as "avant-garde". She has expressed a fear of heights, ghosts, skateboarding, and even Bluefin Depot. Callie also states in Pinwheel Power Plant that she dislikes seafood, though the Squid vs. Octopus Splatfest seems to contradict this. She also hates Flooders and spinning platforms, as she easily becomes motion sick, and cannot ride a bicycle or drive, which is ironic as she represented cars in the Cars vs. Planes Splatfest.

She is incredibly rich, being described by Marie as having "more money than [she] can count" - also ironic as she did not represent money in the Love vs. Money Splatfest. Some of her Splatfest choices are energetic and uplifting - for example, her choices of Fit, Love, and Perfect Body.

Callie personality and traits 2

She also loves to eat and often talks about food, much to the chagrin and occasional disgust of Marie. Her favorite food is chips, although, like her grandfather, she also enjoys crabby cakes. Easily distracted by cute, pretty, or striking things, many of her stage comments are about something completely irrelevant to the battle. Although mainly cheerful, Callie can occasionally get tired of Marie's sassiness and make cruel comments herself, which she is very prone to while brainwashed. This is seen when she "got personal" during the result announcement of the Early Bird vs. Night Owl Splatfest and the Naughty vs. Nice Splatfest where she asked Marie why she was the one on Team Naughty, in which she ends up getting frightened and says she never meant anything by it.

History

callie lore part 1

Callie was born and raised in Calamari County. At a young age, she became interested in singing and entered Inkopolis' first annual Youth Folk-Singing Contest with her cousin, Marie. Their stunning performance earned them a standing ovation from the audience, as well as a first-place trophy and certificate. However, this success did not make them instant stars. Although Callie eventually joined Marie in creating the Squid Sisters pop group, for a time after their move to Inkopolis together, the two struggled to make ends meet, and so worked part-time at Walleye Warehouse during their early years as professional singers. Callie also worked part-time at Piranha Pit.

Despite these setbacks, they eventually rose in fame, quickly becoming Inkopolis' premier pop icons in the process. By the events of Splatoon, the Squid Sisters had become household names in Inkopolis Plaza, with one of their celebrity jobs being hosting Inkopolis News. Callie usually opened with humorous statements regarding stage news, gently poking fun at Marie in the process. She also helped announce updates and Splatfest news and could be seen chatting with Marie in the Inkopolis News Studio. Whenever a Splatfest occurred, Callie and Marie could be seen singing and dancing to City of Color atop trucks in the Plaza equipped with platforms and stage equipment. Across all regions, Callie's team won 25 Splatfests, while Marie's only won 18 Callie also made a major appearance during Octo Valley. After initially making a news broadcast about the disappearance of the Great Zapfish, she appeared as Agent 1 of the New Squidbeak Splatoon, led by her grandfather, Cap'n Cuttlefish, with Marie as Agent 2. After she was recruited by Cuttlefish, Callie was responsible for recruiting Marie. Throughout Octo Valley, Callie is heard communicating with Cuttlefish, Marie, and Agent 3 regarding the looming Octarian menace.

callie lore part 2

Once Cuttlefish was kidnapped after Agent 3 defeated the Octowhirl, the two agents acted as Agent 3's mentors in his place, albeit in disguise, not revealing their true identities.

The group eventually reunited during Enter the Octobot King!. As the final phase of the battle with DJ Octavio began, Callie and Marie performed the Calamari Inkantation, revealing their true identities as the Squid Sisters, freeing Cuttlefish, and spurring Agent 3 to defeat Octavio. The two revealed the Great Zapfish's return on Inkopolis News, not disclosing their part in its rescue, and performed Maritime Memory over the credits.

As detailed in the Squid Sisters Stories, by nine months after the Callie vs. Marie Splatfest, the Squid Sisters rocketed to new heights of popularity, becoming the biggest stars in Inkling society. After releasing her solo record, Bomb Rush Blush, Callie began making guest appearances on variety shows and eventually became a TV drama actress. With this extra fame and work, they eventually stepped down as hosts of Inkopolis News to focus on their solo careers and were replaced by Pearl and Marina of Off the Hook.

With work forcing the Squid Sisters continually further apart, Marie began to worry that the Splatfest had harmed their relationship. Eventually sharing a day off, the two met up to dispel their worries and agreed on taking a short trip home to Calamari County. However, Callie never arrived, prompting Marie to leave and search for her. Realizing that the Great Zapfish had also gone missing and Cap'n Cuttlefish was not around to guard DJ Octavio, Marie left to Inkopolis Square to find an Inkling who could help her.

callie lore part 3

An important note to her character heavily implied in the relationship chart is that Callie could have willingly gone to the Octarians as a way to escape her life as a celebrity. In her relationship chart with DJ Octavio, they seem to have an ongoing conversation of Callie joining the Octarians with her saying "OK, fine. I'll hear you out". She's also shown to have no resentment towards the Octarians after or before being brainwashed by some of her dialogue in Splatoon 2 (and again in the relationship chart). In Splatoon 2, Marie recruited Agent 4 to explore Octo Canyon and help find Callie and the Great Zapfish. While doing so, Marie began receiving peculiar radio messages that were later revealed to be coming from Callie. When Agent 4 and Marie finally discovered Callie in Bomb Rush Blush, they found out that she had fallen under the influence of DJ Octavio's "hypnoshades" and was working as one of his subordinates. During the following battle, Marie managed to shoot off the hypnoshades with her Hero Charger, bringing Callie back to her senses and eventually reuniting the Squid Sisters. After DJ Octavio was defeated for the second time, the Squid Sisters made a new single, Fresh Start, which is played over the credits. If the final boss mission is replayed, Callie's reason for siding with the Octarians again is that the hypnoshades "look good on her". As part of the New Squidbeak Splatoon along with Marie and the Captain, Callie has been doing reconnaissance work into a previously undiscovered shelter that was abandoned by humans, called Alterna. The new Agent 3 first encounters the trio on Future Utopia Island after falling into Alterna due to a cave-in. Callie accompanies Agent 3 as they complete challenges across the six sites, occasionally rewarding them with power eggs.

callie lore part 4

After Agent 3 bests the three bosses and collects all components of the treasure, Callie and Marie assemble the machine for the Captain to use in order to remove all of the Fuzzy Ooze surrounding the Alterna Space Center, where the Squid Sisters grandfather, Craig Cuttlefish, has been taken captive. After the members of Deep Cut become 'underlings' of Marie, Callie expresses excitement at Marie's new position as 'boss'.

When the New Squidbeak Splatoon finally reaches Craig Cuttlefish, they are heartbroken to find that their grandfather has presumably been dehydrated. However, Cuttlefish is revived after a tear from the Captain falls on him.

As Agent 3 battles Mr. Grizz in space, Callie, along with Marie, Deep Cut, and DJ Octavio, perform Calamari Inkantation 3MIX in order to hype them up for battle.

Callie also shows great admiration towards Deep Cut, as shown in her dialogue in Alterna, finishing Deep Cut's intro before singing Calamari Inkantation 3MIX.

Marie appearance 1

Marie is a very fashionable Inkling with a remarkable resemblance to her cousin, having a more "laid-back" design than her in comparison. She has a light peach skin tone and light gray tentacles, two of which are longer and usually tied in a large bow on the right side of her head; they wrap around to the other side and curl up slightly at the tips, which have a green gradient and are decorated with spots. Additionally, she has a right-parted bang and a smaller one on the left, usually hidden under her hairpiece. She has large golden eyes with darker pupils shaped like four-pointed stars, large oval eyebrows, and a beauty mark under her right eye, mirroring the one on Callie's left cheek. Unlike the usual Inkling eye mask, Marie's eye markings are more droopy, with two small eyelash-like points each; her ears are slightly narrower, longer, and more downturned than those of the average Inkling. Marie's stature is generally depicted as average, with her being slightly taller than the player character in Splatoon and Splatoon 2, and the same height as them in Splatoon 3. Marie wears a black strapless romper that includes a skirt and a heart-shaped neckline; the corset is form-fitting and closes with green laces in the back. The romper is made of a reflective material covered in color-shifting hexagonal sequins. On the front are three horizontal openings showing a layer of magenta fabric underneath; they resemble the cuts made in ikayaki, or grilled squid, a popular Japanese festival food.

With this outfit, she wears lime green tights, white gloves, white chunky hoop earrings, and a detached white shirt collar. On her feet, Marie wears a pair of ankle-high black boots, with green wedge heels and a green button on both sides of the ankle. In addition to her tights, Marie also wears black shorts under her dress, which are usually unseen; the lining of her skirt is green to match her tights as well.

Marie appearance 2

On the left side of her head is a green and white ornament resembling a calamari ring. Before Splatoon, it can be seen briefly flying off of her head when she jumps, akin to Callie's sashimi hairpiece; in Splatoon 3: Expansion Pass, it stays in place instead.

During a Splatfest, any part of Marie's appearance that is normally green changes to match the color of her Splatfest team, including the tips of her tentacles. This represents her standard ink color, as seen in her amiibo figure and squid form in Super Mario Maker and Miitomo.

In her squid form, as seen in Super Mario Maker, Marie is a standard green squid, but with her signature pupils and eyelash-like points on top of her eye markings.

while acting as Agent 2, Marie wears a more undercover outfit, with only the top half shown. She wears what seems to be a green shirt, a green baseball hat with a logo similar to that of the clothing brand Firefin, and a white facemask. Her tentacles appear to be in the same hairstyle as her idol outfit, peeking out from the back of her cap. Her attire suggests she is trying to hide her identity from fans that happen to see her.

marie appearance in Splatoon 2

At Tentakeel Outpost, Marie wears traditional Japanese-style clothing, similar to how she dressed as a child. She wears a dark gray kimono decorated with a green and yellow wave pattern at the hem, in a style not unlike the traditional Japanese seigaiha pattern. Around her waist is a green obi belt with a squid-shaped golden obidome charm. On top, she wears a black haori jacket with hanging sleeves and a triangle squid pattern along the bottom hem, similar to the traditional Japanese uroko pattern. On her feet are white tabi socks and black zori sandals with green thongs. The left side of her head is decorated with a tasseled pink ornament tied up with a red ribbon, described in The Art of Splatoon 2 as being reminiscent of cooked shrimp. She also carries a green wagasa parasol prop she got from a costume shop.[2] It has a Cuttlegear brand logo printed on and a small green squid charm hanging from the handle through a piece of magenta rope.

Her haori bears the Kensaki clan crest[3] on both sides, though any connection between her and the Kensaki clan is unknown.

marie appearance in Splatoon 3

Marie sports a new outfit and neon yellow ink color in Splatoon 3, to signify her role as Agent 2 in the New Squidbeak Splatoon. She wears an asymmetrical white coat that closes with a small squid clasp near her right shoulder; the coat is decorated with three horizontal yellow stripes down the front, similar to those on her original black dress. Marie also wears dark gray leggings and ankle-high black jika-tabi shoes with yellow soles. On her head, she wears her signature calamari ring ornament, which is now black with yellow spots, while the inside remains white. Overall, her style is now more professional and mature in appearance.

To accessorize, Marie wears chunky iridescent earrings and black gloves. She carries with her a white parasol similar to the one from Splatoon 2, with the Cuttlegear brand logo and a triangle squid uroko pattern in neon yellow.

Marie's appearance in childhood

Like her cousin, Marie's childhood appearance is depicted to have been quite unique in comparison to other Inklings, as they both already looked humanoid, contrasting with the squid-like appearance most Inklings have as children.

As a child, Marie had larger eyes and eyebrows, and her tentacles were much shorter, messier, and without bangs. The calamari accessory on her head was also much smaller.

Marie was often depicted wearing traditional Japanese-style clothing as a child. Her first outfit, shown in Sunken Scroll 17, consisted of a dark blue kimono with a white polka dot pattern along the bottom hem. She wore a pair of thick black okobo sandals with pink thongs.

For her second outfit, Marie wore a white yukata with a seashell pattern in lime green, navy blue, and lavender. The calamari accessory was depicted with a mix of deep purple and green colors.

Marie personality and traits 1

Marie is seemingly quieter and not as excitable as her cousin, and usually only gives a half-smile, if at all. She can be sarcastic from time to time, and is slightly prone to complaining, but is usually in a mild mood. Overall, her disposition is laid-back and friendly, although she gets easily annoyed and can be grumpy sometimes. She is also an expert at doing impressions, as mentioned by Agent 1.

She dislikes overly-thrilling activities and can even be somewhat lazy. She also does not seem to be a big fan of vegetables, especially tomatoes, even to the extent of saying that she would rather eat a Splattershot than vegetables.

She has shown a demonstrably cheekier side, as seen in the Pokémon Red vs. Pokémon Blue Splatfest ending dialogue, where Callie asked how to change the name of Marie's Vulpix she traded her from "BLUEISBEST" and Marie hurriedly ends the broadcast, slyly avoiding the question. In addition to this, when reattempting the final boss fight of Splatoon 2, at one point her dialogue reads: "Octavio, stop hitting yourself! Stop hitting yourself!", laughing at the fact that DJ Octavio's "fists" need to be shot back at him. She states that she 'can't throw shade without Callie' in Octo Canyon, further implying her cheeky side.

When anticipating an announcement (for example, the theme of a Splatfest, or the contents of an update), she often repeats herself in excitement. (Ex. "What is it? What is it?!")

Despite her constant teasing of Callie, it is shown in the Squid Sisters Stories that Marie constantly stresses about Callie's well-being and worries about overshadowing her, even leading to self-loathing. Many of Marie's Splatfest choices are lazy, smart, and sassy, as seen with her choices of Save It, Perfect Mind, and Marie. Marie states that she hates pineapple on pizza and even wonders about getting a slice of 'pineapple-free pizza from the future' while alone in Octo Canyon.

Marie personality and traits 2

Marie also stated that she would rather join Team Future than Team Past so she can 'give out massages and print out pizza slices'.

Marie hates Callie's puns, at one point calling them "punbearable", although while at a live concert, Callie states that Marie has her own "signature puns". This implies that Marie truly cares about what Callie likes, although she is prone to cheeky insults. Marie may be acting cheeky to help raise her popularity.

Marie lore part 1

Marie was born and raised in Calamari County, regularly counting the stars with her cousin Callie at night. At a young age, she became interested in singing and entered Inkopolis' first annual Youth Folk-Singing Contest with Callie. Their stunning performance earned them a standing ovation from the audience, as well as a first-place trophy and certificate.

After moving to Inkopolis, Marie worked at Walleye Warehouse with Callie. She resented this job, saying that the best thing about it "was quitting" and burning her uniform, despite thinking that her co-workers were nice. Eventually, Marie joined Callie in creating the Squid Sisters, slowly rising in notoriety to become Inkopolis' premier pop icons. By the events of Splatoon, the Squid Sisters had become household names in Inkopolis Plaza, with one of their celebrity jobs being hosting Inkopolis News. Marie usually interjected sarcastic statements regarding stage news, often groaning at Callie's puns, but was known to also make silly, nonsensical, or even off-topic comments herself. She also helped to announce updates and Splatfest news and could be seen chatting with Callie in the Inkopolis News Studio. Whenever a Splatfest occurred, Marie and Callie could be seen singing and dancing to City of Color atop trucks in the Plaza equipped with platforms and stage equipment. While Callie won 25 Splatfests across all regions, Marie only won 18. Marie also made a major appearance during Octo Valley. After initially making a news broadcast about the disappearance of the Great Zapfish, she appeared as Agent 2 of the New Squidbeak Splatoon, led by her grandfather, Cap'n Cuttlefish, with Callie as Agent 1. Throughout Octo Valley, Marie was heard communicating to Cuttlefish, Callie, and Agent 3 regarding the looming Octarian menace. Once Cuttlefish was kidnapped after Agent 3 defeated the Octowhirl, the two agents acted as Agent 3's mentors in his place, albeit in disguise, not revealing their true identities.

Marie lore part 2

The group eventually reunited during Enter the Octobot King!. As the final phase of the battle with DJ Octavio began, Marie and Callie performed the Calamari Inkantation, revealing their true identities as the Squid Sisters, freeing Cuttlefish, and spurring Agent 3 to defeat Octavio. The two revealed the Great Zapfish's return on Inkopolis News, not disclosing their part in its rescue, and performed Maritime Memory over the credits.

detailed in the Squid Sisters Stories, by nine months after the Callie vs. Marie Splatfest, the Squid Sisters rocketed to even greater fame as the biggest stars in Inkling society. However, after they released their first solo recordings, they began following separate paths. Marie began putting on solo concerts, appearing on music shows, and even starting a career in theater. Their schedules allowed for little quality time spent together, but when they were together their relationship seemed to be intact. Unfortunately, shortly after planning a trip home to Calamari County together, Callie disappeared. Fearful for what may have happened to her, Marie soon found that DJ Octavio had escaped his prison and the Great Zapfish had disappeared again. With Cap'n Cuttlefish not around, Marie moved to Inkopolis Square, taking a break from her career and going into hiding.

Marie lore part 3

In Splatoon 2, Marie recruited Agent 4 in Octo Canyon to help rescue Callie and the Great Zapfish, taking Cap'n Cuttlefish's role as their main advisor and guide. After beating the Octo Shower, she and Agent 4 received a call telling them to leave Octo Canyon and never look back. However, Marie quickly realized that the caller was Callie since she held the phone upside-down; a trait that Callie has admitted to having. During Bomb Rush Blush, they learned that Callie had been brainwashed by DJ Octavio using his hypnoshades and was forced to fight him and Callie. Marie was able to shoot off the hypnoshades with a Hero Charger filled with her special "low-tide ink", slowly bringing Callie back to her senses and reuniting the Squid Sisters. After Octavio was defeated for the second time, the Squid Sisters made a new single, Fresh Start, which is played over the credits.

Marie stayed at Cuttlefish Cabin to look after Octavio while waiting for Cuttlefish to return, where she was later joined by Callie. They provided various stats and information about the player during their conversations with Agent 4, where Callie revealed that Marie had been tracking their every movement and logging it in her "Agent Four Factopedia".

Marie does not make a physical appearance during the Octo Expansion, but after all the stations in the Deepsea Metro are cleared, she appears in the Bonus Log of Marina's chat room that is unlocked. She stumbles upon the chat room under the username of "Agent 2". Accidentally discovering Cap'n Cuttlefish chatting there, she initially worries about it being a dating site, but quickly dismisses this idea and finds out that Cuttlefish and Agent 3 are fine. She attempts to convince Cuttlefish to return home for seaweed stew before signing off. If the player goes to Octo Canyon after unlocking the Bonus Log, Marie can share with Callie in Tentakeel Outpost that she found Cuttlefish in a chat room and that he and Agent 3 are doing well.

Marie lore part 4

As part of the New Squidbeak Splatoon along with Callie and the Captain, Marie has been doing reconnaissance work into a previously undiscovered shelter that was abandoned by humans, called Alterna. The new Agent 3 first encounters the trio on Future Utopia Island after falling into Alterna due to a cave-in. As Agent 3 and Callie explore the other sites, Marie and the Captain stay on Future Utopia Island at their base camp. Marie also acts as a 'translator' for the Captain, relaying their thoughts and feelings to Agent 3, as the two do not directly interact.

After Agent 3 bests the three bosses and collects all components of the treasure, Callie and Marie assemble the machine for the Captain to use in order to remove all of the Fuzzy Ooze surrounding the Alterna Space Center, where the Squid Sisters' grandfather, Craig Cuttlefish, has been taken captive. After the treasure has served its purpose, Marie then gifts it to Deep Cut, who are extremely grateful. To show their thanks, the Deep Cut members profess their desire to make Marie their boss, much to her dismay. She complains on multiple occasions about the added paperwork the Deep Cut trio has caused her to have.

When the New Squidbeak Splatoon finally reaches Craig Cuttlefish, they are heartbroken to find that their grandfather has presumably been dehydrated. However, Cuttlefish is revived after a tear from the Captain falls on him.

As Agent 3 battles Mr. Grizz in space, Marie, along with Callie, Deep Cut, and DJ Octavio, perform Calamari Inkantation 3MIX in order to hype them up for battle.

captain/agent 3 appearance

first outfit: In Splatoon, they wear the Hero Suit and can pick up armor to wear as well. They wield the Hero Shot second outfit: Along with their Hero's Suit, they now also wear a tattered black cape with a 3 embroidered in the back. third outfit: As the Captain, they wear the Cap of Legend in combination with their Hero Headset, tattered clothes (similar to what Cap'n Cuttlefish wore in Splatoon) over a gray shirt, tattered black pants, and new Flip-Flops in the same style as the Hero Suit. Additionally, they have scars on both tips of their hair.

agent 3/captain traits and personality

Agent 3 seems to be more serious than any of the other New Squidbeak Splatoon members. They often carry a stoic demeanor, and rarely, if ever, smile. However, they are also extremely tenacious and unwaveringly loyal to the people closest to them, mainly the other Splatoon members. This is shown when after the new Agent 3 returns to Alterna, Agent 3 responds, "Booyah!". In Splatoon 3, even as Captain they don't speak, either using gestures or letting Agents 1 and 2 do the talking instead. When the new Agent 3 tries to speak with them, Agent 2 points out that this is due to shyness and that it should not be taken personally.

captain/agent 3 lore part 1

Not much is known about Agent 3's background, except that they left their home at the age of 14 to "be where fashion is made" and moved to live alone in Inkopolis. In Splatoon, after following him through a manhole in Inkopolis Plaza, Agent 3 met Cap'n Cuttlefish in Octo Valley. After explaining to them the Octarians' plan of stealing the Great Zapfish, he recruited the young Inkling as Agent 3 of the New Squidbeak Splatoon, giving them the Hero Shot and a hand-me-down Hero Suit. Agent 3 then progressed through the levels of Octo Valley, retrieving Zapfish and defeating the Great Octoweapons.

After defeating the Octowhirl, however, Cuttlefish got kidnapped, and Agent 3 was instead guided by his granddaughters, Agents 1 and 2. After completing all the levels in Octo Valley, Agent 3 eventually battled the leader of the Octarians, DJ Octavio, in Enter the Octobot King!. After the fourth and penultimate phase of the battle, Agents 1 and 2 revealed themselves as Callie and Marie of the Squid Sisters and played the Calamari Inkantation, allowing Cuttlefish to free himself. With this motivation, Agent 3 defeated Octavio, rescuing Cuttlefish and the Great Zapfish, and restoring Inkopolis' power supply.

Agent 3 does not appear in Octo Canyon in Splatoon 2, however, they are mentioned various times through Marie's dialogue and depicted in Sunken Scroll 2. Sunken Scroll 25 revealed that Cap'n Cuttlefish went off traveling with Agent 3 for "a research trip to the cape." Before the start of the Octo Expansion, Agent 3 and Cap'n Cuttlefish continued exploring Octo Valley when they ended up in battle against a young Octoling. However, an unknown third party attacked them, leaving them stranded in the Deepsea Metro, with Agent 3 separated. Cuttlefish and the Octoling, nicknamed Agent 8, teamed up to collect the four thangs and escape the Deepsea Metro. After Agent 8 collected all four thangs, the telephone built them into a blender and tricked Agent 8 and Cuttlefish inside.

captain/agent 3 lore part 2

However, Marina used Agent 8's CQ-80 device to unleash a distress signal to which Agent 3 responded by jumping through the roof and destroying the blender. They were rendered unconscious as a result, with Cuttlefish staying behind to look after them as Agent 8 escaped through the hole Agent 3 made. While Agent 8 was away, the telephone attacked Agent 3, and hijacked their mind with ooze. Under the Telephone's control, they tied up Cuttlefish and later attacked Agent 8 before they could escape to the surface. After being defeated, the ooze disappeared, leaving them once again unconscious. They eventually woke up after Agent 8 and Off the Hook defeated Commander Tartar, the true name of the telephone, now with a band-aid on the back of their head as the credits rolled.

When Agent 8 returned to the Deepsea Metro, Cuttlefish explained that Agent 3 went back on patrol. After Agent 8 completed all the tests, a locker in A00 Central Station opened and they had a flashback to the first time they heard the Calamari Inkantation, prompting a final battle against their "Inner Agent 3".

Sometime before the start of Splatoon 3, Agent 3 was promoted to the captain of the New Squidbeak Splatoon, with Cap'n Cuttlefish stepping down and going into retirement.[3] At the beginning of Return of the Mammalians, Cuttlefish recruits a new Inkling or Octoling as the new Agent 3 in the Crater to investigate the disappearance of the Great Zapfish in Splatsville.

After the new Agent 3 wakes up in Alterna, they meet the captain, Agent 1 and Agent 2 for the first time. Together they investigate the Sites of Alterna to find Cuttlefish, who has been captured by Mr. Grizz after a battle on the bottom of the Crater.

After the new Agent 3 collects the three treasures guarded by Deep Cut, Agent 3, now the Captain, and the Squid Sisters build it into a lawn mower-like tool together.

captain/agent 3 lore part 3

The Captain then uses it to cut off all the fuzz around Alterna Space Center so the party could go there and save Cuttlefish, but is also hurt in the process, and the tool breaks down. The two agents then follow the new Agent 3 into the space center, along with Deep Cut after the latter is given the broken tool.

After discovering the dehydrated Cuttlefish, the Captain is devastated along with the Squid Sisters. They hold Cuttlefish's body in their hands and cry. A drop of tear falls on Cuttlefish's body, and he is revitalized by the teardrop in his squid form.

agent 4

They can pick up Armor to wear as well. They wield the Hero Shot by default but are later able to use a variety of other Hero weapons given to them by Sheldon.

Unlike other Agents who are locked to a single hue outside of levels, Agent 4 sports different ink colors depending on which Sector of the Octo Canyon they are in. These ink colors are respectively   Marigold in Tentakeel Outpost (also used in most promotional art),   Green in Suction-Cup Lookout,   Soda in Beaker's Depot,   Turquoise in Slimeskin Garrison and   Night Lumi Green in Cephalon HQ.

Agent 4 is frequently depicted as a boy Inkling with a spikes up hairstyle, orange eyes, wearing the upgraded Hero Suit, with Marigold as their signature ink color.

Agent 4 is described as a silent squid who goes with the flow even in raging waters, and values freedom and flexibility.[4] They also "blast through any situation with ease."[3] Agent 4 did not initially know who the Squid Sisters were, but later came to respect them after their journey in Octo Canyon. Agent 4, as seen in promotional pictures and art, has a diligent work ethic, a lot of confidence, and is extremely free-spirited. Compared to Agent 3, they are shown to be more easygoing and relaxed, yet slightly upbeat in their mannerisms. Not much is known about Agent 4's background, except that they came from a town about 40 minutes from Inkopolis by train. Agent 4 initially went to Inkopolis for an unknown reason but got swept up in Marie's quest to save the Great Zapfish and her cousin Callie. In Octo Canyon, Agent 4 completes various missions to retrieve stolen Zapfish, defeating many Octarians along the way. Eventually, Agent 4 confronts DJ Octavio and a brainwashed Callie, rescuing the Great Zapfish, freeing Callie, and finally restoring Inkopolis' power supply once again. Sometime after the events of Splatoon 2, Cuttlefish introduced Off the Hook to Agent 4. Marina wanted them to be in charge of the Memverse's system security.
