Splatoon Raiders RPG

Splatoon Raiders is the 4th entry in the Splatoon video game franchise by Nintendo. It was released on July 23, 2026 exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2 system.

Splatoon Raiders is a single-player focused spinoff of Splatoon 3, following Deep Cut and the protagonist.

This RPG is set in the Splatoon Universe, specifically on the undocumented Sphiralite Islands archipelago.

The Sphiralite Islands are an uncharted cluster of Islands in a spiral pattern far off the shores of Splatsville. It is made up of many Islands of varying sizes, the overall archipelago taking a spiral formation.

The Sphiralite Islands are very biodiverse, home to many varying biomes ranging from tropical jungles, beaches, volcanic mountains, frozen mountains, tundra, and ice floes.

The RPG's main cast, The Mechanic and Deep Cut, live on a large, floating base off operations they've dubbed the Hideout Ship. The Hideout Ship is fastened with a training yard, a crane, and individual rooms for Shiver, Frye, Big Man, and The Mechanic. The Hideout Ship is transported by being pulled by Shiver's shark companion, Master Mega.

Shiver Hohojiro is one of the three members of Deep Cut, she is a 24 year old woman. She refers to the Mechanic simply as Mechanic.

Appearance: Shiver is an octoling with pale skin, red eyes, a thin and sharp octoling eye mask, red eye shadow, sharp triangle eyebrows, she has medium length tentacle hair that covers the left side of her face, and is tied up in a bun held by a ribbon with a shark tooth.

She wears a white sarashi wrap as a top and black short shorts with a long piece of ivory fabric on her right leg acting as a skirt with red okobo sandals. She has silver ear piercings.

Personality: Shiver presents herself as aloof, cold blooded, mature, and pragmatic. She is highly competitive and quick to anger. In reality, Shiver cares deeply about her friends and family, is rather selfish, alightly unhinged, and enjoys a good pun. She does not know a sense of personal space with The Mechanic. Despite her Brash persona, she can be quite humble and understanding sometimes.

History: Shiver was born to the Hohojiro clan of shark tamers, one of Splatsville's three most powerful families. She began bonding with her shark, Master Mega, at a very young age, and is a classically trained opera singer, which she showcases frequently in Deep Cut's music. Her weapon of choice is a Stringer class weapon.

Frye Onaga is one of the three members of Deep Cut, she is a 22 year old woman. She calls the Mechanic "Mecchie."

Appearance: Frye is an inkling with medium brown skin, golden eyes, with a large and exaggerated inkling eye mask that comes out to points resembling eyelashes at the ends, she has medium length yellow tentacle hair with bangs in a middle oart and a high ponytail.

Frye wears a black sleeveless crop top under a yellow shawl, she wears a tattered white miniskirt that is the remains of her baggy harem pants, and white toeless socks with purple sandals.

Personality: Frye is peppy and reckless, often wearing her emotions on her sleeve. She is full of fearlessness and audacity, is known to brag and can come off conceited, but ultimately is a very kind, fun-loving woman. She is very gluttonous, frequently snacking and talking about food. Frye is known for being airheaded at times, often throwing strategy out the window in favor of diving into everything headfirst. She is a prankster, constantly playing practical jokes on her friends.

History: Frye was born to the Onaga family of eel tamers, one of Splatsville's three most powerful families. She was raised by her grandfather, and is the oldest of four siblings, having a younger brother and twin younger sisters. Frye's singing is said to have a tone and timbre that transports the listener to the desert if they close their eyes, and has done work as a fashion model. Her weapon of choice is a Splatana class weapon.

Big Man is one of the three members of Deep Cut, he is a 23 year old man. He refers to the Mechanic by their name.

Appearance: Big Man is a large manta ray, he is grey with white dotted markings along his belly and both sides of his pectoral fins. He has a tail which is white on the front and grey on the back. He stands upright on his pelvic fins as if they were feet, and his large, cartoonish eyes are closer to his mouth along the bottom of his body, giving him an anthropomorphic appearance. He wears a large backpack and swim goggles on the top of his head.

Personality: Big Man is very laid back, often avoiding getting worked up he tends to act as the voice of reason between Shiver and Frye. He is very easily influenced and likes to avoid violence, but will make threats and act on them for the sake of protecting others. Big Man loves having fun and a good time, and is quick to point out the positives.

History: Big Man, who's name is actually too long to remember but starts with Bigglesworth Manfred, was born to the Manta Clan, one of Splatsville's three most powerful families. Big Man became the head of the clan at the young age of 16, and isnthe head of Manda Ryuu, the oldest dance school in the Splatlands.

Deep Cut is a band of pop idols and treasure hunters consisting of Shiver, Frye, and Big Man. They belong to the three most influential clans in Splatsville. The trio met in middle-school, initially hating each other but becoming inseperable friends in high-school.

On top of being world famous musicians, they are also experienced thieves and treasure hunters. They host Splatsville's main news show, Anarchy Splatcast, named after their flagship anthem, Anarchy Rainbow.

Anarchy Rainbow, Fins In the Air, Till Depth Do Us Part, Now or Never, Smeared Canvas, Surprise and Shine, Hide and Sleek, Daybreaker Anthem, Anarchy Poisons, and Big Betrayal.
Deep Cut collaborated with the Squid Sisters on the track Calamari Inkantation (3Mix)
Big Man collaborated with the Squid Sisters on the track Liquid Sunshine, a charity song with proceeds going toward the less fortunate in Splatsville
Shiver and Frye collaborated with Off the Hook on the track Suffer No Fools, a musical turf war between Splatsville and Inkopolis.
Deep Cut collaborated with the Squid Sisters and Off the Hook to form the supergroup the Now or Never Seven for the Grand Festival, they released one song together, Three Wishes.

Splatoon Raiders takes place after the two single player campaigns in Splatoon 3, Return of the Mammalians and Side Order. It also takes place after the Grand Festival.

After the Grand Festival and Deep Cut's big defeat at the hands of Off the Hook, Splatsville was plunged into massive amounts of debt trying to recoup the cost of putting on the Festival, leaving it's denizens on hard times and poverty. As the representatives of the Splatlands' three most influential clans, Deep Cut set out on a treasure hunt using an old map held by the Manta Clan, taking them to what they would discover are the Sphiralite Islands with plans to loot the Islands of treasure and sell to pay Splatsville's debts.

Upon getting close, a bright golden light flashed at the center of the spiral (unbeknownst to Deep Cut, this was the power of the Salmonarch), which crashed their helicopter, leaving Deep Cut and the Mechanic stranded.

The Mechanic is the protagonist and player character of Splatoon Raiders, he is an 18 year old man.

Appearance: The Mechanic is an octoling with light brown skin, freckles, pink eyes, and an average octoling eye mask. He has teal tentacle hair that he slicks back aside from his bangs, which sweep from the middle of his head to the right. He wears a headband to style his hair.

The Mechanic wears a white short sleeve crop top over a black sleeveless crop top and an orange piece of fabric he's fashioned into a sarong with a pair of black sandals.

Personality: The Mechanic is quiet and determined, easily flustered by Deep Cut's antics. He is kind, likes to help out wherever he can, and can be a bit snarky but it's all meant in good fun. He has a bit of a one track mind, tending to hyperfocus on things.

History: The Mechanic, who's real name is Tako, is a jack of many trades. He is a pilot, Mechanic, engineer, video game developer, weaponsmith, and musician. He is a boy from Splatsville just trying to make a living to afford more gear and make it big in the turf war league.

Salmonids are the main inhabitants of the Spheralite Islands, also serving as their point of origin. There are ruins built by the Salmonids all across the surface and underground on the Islands, suggesting that they were once a more sophisticated society than what they are in modern day.

There are many types of Salmonids returning from Splatoon 2 and Splatoon 3, including: Smallfry, Chum, Cohocks, Spinook, Scrapper, Stinger, Steelhead, Big Shot, Fish Stick, Steel Eel, Slammin' Lid, Flyfish, Maws, Drizzler, Flipper-Flopper, and Goldie.

Salmonids whose eggs were encased in Sphiralite are known as Seasoned Salmonids, which are much larger and much more dangerous than their regular counterparts.

Salmonids found only on the Spheralite Islands include:
Sparky, a lesser salmonid that carries a bomb pack and moves quickly on a wheel
Salty Tongue, a boss salmonid that is very large in size, it has a long neck and tongue, which it extends to bite
Salivator, a boss salmonid that flies with its large fins that can create whirlwinds that cause an updraft capable of lifting things into the air
Smoker, a boss salmonid with a slender, eel-like body. It carries a smoke emitter on it's back and blows smoke at it's target.
Strong Arms, a seasoned salmonid that is abnormally large, it has four arms that each holds a different weapon
Flappetiser, a mythical salmonid similar to a Salivator, it resides in one of the ancient salmonid temples
Paincourse, a mythical salmonid with a long, train-like body, it resides in one of the ancient salmonid temples
Desshurt, a mythical salmonid similar to a big shot, it weilds a large ice hammer and resides in one of the ancient salmonid temples
Salmonarch, a mythical salmonid that resides in the ruins of the center of the archipelago. It is ginormous, a godlike being. It is winged with three heads, and causes salmonids the world over to go beserk and attack Inkadia.
