Ichimaru Gin

He constantly squints, very rarely fully opening his sky-blue eyes. He appears to be a young man in his early twenties, although he is very thin and tall, with sharp features that give him a somewhat skeletal appearance. His hair has an unusual silver tint.
Jin's usual facial expression is a wide smile; he stops smiling only in rare cases of irritation, surprise, bewilderment or even sadness.
His cape is deeply cut to the waist and hips. His cape has wide sleeves in which he hides his arms, like the sleeves of a kimono. The hilt of his sword clearly protrudes from under his cloak through a deep slit up to his waist.

Gin is one of the most mysterious Shinigami, largely due to his constant smile and constantly narrowed eyes, combined with subtle irony, ruthless sarcasm and a somewhat mocking politeness. It is very difficult to discern his true intentions. Many find his behavior and appearance distasteful, and very few trust him (and that was before he was revealed to be a traitor). However, Gin was apparently aware of the effect he had on people and repeatedly played with the feelings and emotions of those around him for the sake of entertainment. Gin speaks a special Kyoto dialect, polite but somewhat evasive. Gin has shown himself to be quite perceptive. Even with friends he behaves secretly. He deliberately pushes them away, thereby caring for their safety. And if he likes someone, he will take care of that person, paying a lot of attention to him, thereby showing his love and affection. It is difficult for him to trust, but if he falls in love, he will first weigh the pros and cons, and perhaps reveal his secrets.

While living in Rukongai as a child, Gin finds Rangiku Matsumoto, who was also a child, lying on the ground. He offers her the dried.persimmons he was then carrying, saying that if she collapses from hunger, then she must have spiritual energy. Rangiku realizes that he must also have spiritual energy. On this day, Jin and Rangiku's shared love for dried persimmons can be traced.
Gin also met Aizen while he and Rangiku were still living in Rukongai. While collecting firewood in the forest, he discovers Aizen and three other Shinigami (kneeling in front of him) in a clearing while in the bushes. While eavesdropping, he sees Aizen take a ball of pink energy from one of the Shinigami's hands and place it in the Hogyoku glass. It was then revealed that Gin had previously seen three Shinigami leaving the site of Rangiku's fall, carrying with them the ball of pink energy that he had seen earlier. Realizing that Aizen must be their leader, Gin decides to kill him.
Gin had a habit of leaving Rangiku alone most of the time and not telling her where he was going. During one such incident, Rangiku finds Gin in the shinigami's shihakusho with blood on his face. When Rangiku asks him what he was up to, he replies that he decided to become a Shinigami and change the situation so that everything would end without Rangiku's tears. Together, Gin and Rangiku entered the Academy of Spiritual Arts. From then on, Rangiku became one of the few people Gin truly cared about.
Approximately 110 years ago, Jin graduates from the Academy in one year and is promoted to officer of the 5th Division. One night, Aizen finds Gin after he killed the third officer of the 5th Division. Aizen praises Gin's efforts and asks his opinion of the man he killed, to which Gin replies that he is good for nothing.
