Gin Ichimaru

In terms of clothing, Gin is not particularly noticeable and does not wear any unusual items. However, his overall appearance is not quite ordinary. He constantly squints, rarely fully opening his sky-blue eyes. He appears to be a young man in his early twenties, although he is very thin and tall, with sharp features, giving him a somewhat skeletal appearance. His hair is an unusual shade of silver. Gin's usual facial expression is a wide grin, and he only stops smiling when he is rarely irritated, surprised, confused, or even sad.

Gin is one of the more mysterious Shinigami, largely due to his constant smile and constantly narrowed eyes, coupled with a subtle irony and ruthless sarcasm and somewhat mocking politeness. It is very difficult to discern his true intentions. Many find his demeanor and appearance unpleasant, and very few trusted him (and that was before he was revealed to be a traitor). However, Gin seems to be aware of the impression he makes on people, and has repeatedly played with the feelings and emotions of those around him for his amusement.

He possesses outstanding combat skills. His Zanpakutō, Shinsō, appears as a katana with a shortened blade and a white hilt. In its Shikai, the blade glows white and expands at high speed to pierce an opponent from a distance. Gin can maintain the expansion and swing the activated Shinsō in wide arcs to attack multiple targets at once. The maximum length of Shinsō is equivalent to its original length increased by one hundred times. His Bankai is called Kamishini no Yari. The abilities of Gin's Bankai are essentially the same as his Shikai, but its power, cutting strength, length, and speed are increased to the point that Gin is capable of cutting an entire city in half with a single strike. He states that the sword in its Kamishini no Yari form can expand itself thirteen kilometers at five hundred times the speed of sound and return to its original form at the same speed.

Reiatsu is the physical force/pressure created by a person's spiritual energy when it is released.

Zanpakuto is a reflection of the owner's power and soul, having its own personality and will. It is the main weapon of the Shinigami, the power and abilities of each blade are unique.

Shikai is the second form available to a Zanpakutō, which requires the Shinigami to be able to communicate with the spirit of their weapon and learn its true name in order to activate it.

Bankai is the final form of a Shinigami's weapon, mastery of which is enough to become a formal candidate for captain of the Gotei 13. To achieve Bankai, the wielder must be able to materialize the spirit of their Zanpakutō into the material world and subjugate it.

Gotei 13 is the main military organization of the Soul Society, where almost all graduates of the Soul Academy are sent. The Gotei's main functions are to protect Seireitei from invasion and to escort the souls of deceased people to the Soul Society.

In Gotei 13, as in any army, there is a table of ranks. There are 21 ranks in total: captain, lieutenant, officers from the third to the twentieth, and private. The ranks are in accordance: the lower the number, the higher the rank. The most important person in the Gotei 13 is the commander-in-chief. Then there are the 13 captains, then the lieutenants, then the officers, and finally the ordinary Shinigami.

Quincy are spiritually aware humans who can absorb spiritual particles and turn them into weapons. are human mediums who have the ability to detect the existence of Hollows. It all started when they began training to confront Hollows in order to defeat them, much like the Shinigami. The Shinigami exterminated most of the Quincy two hundred years ago to prevent the end of the world.

Arancar are Hollows who have removed their masks and gained powers similar to those of Shinigami.

Grew up in Rukongai with his childhood friend. Around 110 years ago, Gin graduated from the Shinigami Academy in one year and was promoted to officer in the 5th Division. Over time, he became a lieutenant and eventually captain of the 3rd Division.
