Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez

Grimmjow is a tall, muscular young man with spiky blue hair and blue eyes with lime green markings at the corners of his eyes.

Grimmjow wears a white hakama, a black belt, and a worn shirt with the collar turned up. The back of the shirt is black, and the sleeves are rolled up. Grimmjow wears it unbuttoned, leaving his muscular chest exposed. The remains of his Hollow mask are on his right cheek, forming the right side of his jaw. His Hollow hole is located in his stomach. His tattoo (6) is on his back, to the right of his Hollow hole.[4] Grimmjow also has a large vertical scar across his body, which he received during his first fight with Ichigo Kurosaki.[5]

Grimmjow comes across as a calm, if gruff, man, but underneath this exterior is a ruthless, impulsive, and short-tempered individual. However, despite his aggressiveness and bloodlust, Grimmjow is cunning in combat, quickly finding his enemy's weaknesses and attacking.[6][7] Additionally, he is sarcastic and displays sadistic traits, often displaying a maniacal smile[8][9][10] or laughing.[11][12] He is also very rude and impolite. Grimmjow does not use Japanese honorifics except when addressing Aizen[13] (though he quickly drops the politeness when Aizen leaves),[14][15] and refers to Orihime as "woman".

Grimmjow has little respect for authority figures and speaks his mind regardless of whether it is acceptable. This trait of his leads to conflict with Kaname Tōsen, who has always disliked Grimmjow. He has also had disagreements with Ulquiorra Cifer, the Fourth Espada, due to Ulquiorra interrupting his battles and other instances where their opinions clash. Grimmjow also strongly believes that Ulquiorra is weaker than him, and constantly tries to prove this. He also holds a grudge against Ichigo Kurosaki for injuring him in their early battles, and seeks any opportunity to get revenge. He keeps the scar from Ichigo's Getsuga as a reminder of this.[16] Grimmjow is angered by Ichigo's belief that he can defeat him no matter how many wounds he receives, and is often seen as a threat to his own survival. Grimmjow views this as an underestimation of his strength.[17]

However, he does have a certain code of honor, such as not engaging Ichigo in combat after he is injured in his fight with Ulquiorra. He asks Inoue to heal Ichigo so he can fight him at full strength.[18] He also saves Orihime from being beaten by Loly Aivirn and Menoly Mallia. He does this to repay the debt he owed her for restoring his arm, though he soon asks her to perform another favor.[19]

Expert Swordsman: Although he typically prefers hand-to-hand combat, Grimmjow is also proficient with a sword. He was able to hold his own against a Hollowfied Ichigo in Bankai when he only had one arm.[23] He was also able to fight against Shinji while wearing his Hollow mask.[24][25] In a one-on-one fight against Ichigo, he showed considerable skill in swordsmanship.[26]

Master Hand-to-Hand Combatant: He is highly skilled in the art of unarmed combat and practices it frequently. He is capable of delivering deadly punches and kicks in a highly unpredictable manner. His fighting techniques are incredibly destructive; using his speed and reflexes, he can overpower his opponents very quickly. He is skilled enough to even hold his own against a stronger opponent for a time.[27][28][29]

Sonído Master: Grimmjow is an excellent user of Sonído. Even without Resurrección, he is able to keep up with Ichigo Kurosaki while using Tensa Zangetsu. Initially, Grimmjow is able to surprise and overwhelm Ichigo with his speed.[30][31][32][33] While admiring his already immense speed and agility, Grimmjow's attributes are increased to the point that he has the speed and agility of a predator to match his appearance, allowing him to keep up with Ichigo while wearing his Hollow mask. His skill was great enough to catch Tsukishima off guard and keep up with Ikomikidomoe's immense speed.

Descorrer[34]: A technique used by Espada-level Arrancar and some others to open a Garganta to travel from Hueco Mundo to the Living World. Grimmjow demonstrated this ability to visit Karakura Town.

Cero: Grimmjow fires a red-colored Cero from his palm[36][37] or fist.[38] His Cero has also been shown to be stronger when fired at point-blank range, as seen with Luppi, where it destroyed his body for his arm and place in the Espada.[39] He then used it again on Menoly, burning her body with a less-than-full-powered Cero.[40] His Cero is powerful enough to neutralize the Cero of fellow Espada Ulquiorra Cifer during their brief skirmish, leaving Grimmjow with only a burn to his arm up to the elbow.[41] Grimmjow has shown that he can fire Cero from both his right and left hands.[42]

Gran Rey Cero: As an Espada, he can use this special Espada Cero, which produces a much larger and stronger version of a regular Cero, powerful enough to damage Las Nochas. For this reason, Aizen forbade the use of this Cero under the Las Nochas dome, though Grimmjow completely ignored this prohibition and used it during his final fight with Ichigo. In order to use it, Grimmjow cut his finger on his Zanpakutō, and used the blood as a catalyst to use it. Grimmjow's Gran Rey Cero is blue.[43] The sheer power and speed of the attack was able to catch the zombified Luppi off guard, destroying several of the latter's tentacles.

Enhanced Spiritual Power: His spiritual energy levels are very high; Rukia is surprised by his spiritual pressure, as the difference in power between him and his Fracción is so great that she doubts they are the same species.[44] After his initial defeat at the hands of Ichigo Kurosaki in Las Noches, Grimmjow is noted to have grown considerably stronger, to the point that even Tia Harribel tries to avoid fighting Grimmjow whenever she can. Grimmjow's Reiatsu was enough to intimidate Kūgo Ginjō and Candice Catnipp, and Kenpachi Zaraki even expressed a desire to fight the Arrancar, believing Grimmjow to be stronger than the late Nnoitra. Grimmjow's increased Reiryoku even allowed him to fight on equal terms with the reincarnated Luppi, despite Mayuri Kurotsuchi stating that the zombified Arrancar was significantly stronger than before.

Physical Strength: Grimmjow is also incredibly strong. He threw Ichigo a considerable distance without breaking a sweat,[45] and even sent him flying by grabbing him by his own sword.[46] His kicks can be powerful enough to knock down several buildings as he flies away.[47][48] He was also able to effortlessly punch through Luppi's chest despite his Hierro.[49] His kicks contain enough force to destroy several columns of buildings the size of the roof of Las Nochas, which Ichigo received from them. His strength was also strong enough to send Ichigo flying hundreds of feet into the air and through several buildings.

Hierro: Grimmjow's Hierro is durable enough that he can easily block a sword in his Shikai with his bare hand[51] or even grab his Bankai by the blade without sustaining any injury.[52] He was able to withstand a Getsuga Tenshō fired at point-blank range, though he sustained grievous wounds in the process;[53] he later survived a freezing strike from Rukia's Shikai unharmed, noting that freezing the top layer of his skin was not enough to kill him.[54] Grimmjow's already durable Hierro is greatly enhanced, as while in his Resurrección form, he was able to withstand a Getsuga Tenshō from Ichigo Kurosaki's Visored mask without sustaining any external damage.[55] Toxin Resistance: After Grimmjow's encounter with Askin Nack Le Vaar, his exposure to the Sternritter's Lethal Dose made Grimmjow's body much more resistant to various toxins, including those created by Mayuri Kurotsuchi. However, Grimmjow was initially unaware of this. Enhanced Hearing: As noted by Grimmjow himself, he has very sensitive hearing, allowing him to observe the conversation between Tsukishima and Ginjō despite the considerable distance. Pesquisa: Grimmjow demonstrated this ability when he and his faction invaded Karakura Town, where he was able to detect targets from a great distance away.[56] Grimmjow is able to detect targets from a considerable distance away, sensing the similarities between Kūgo Ginjō and the Reireku Hikone Ubugin. Due to his mastery of Pesquisa, Grimmjow was able to sense and instinctively evade an ambush by Luppi, despite Grimmjow being unaware of the other Arrancar's revival.

Keen Intellect: Grimmjow is able to discern from simple observation that after his first fight with Ichigo that his Bankai with the enhanced Getsuga Tenshō is causing damage to his body. He also notes that Ichigo is capable of 2 to 3 more of those attacks at best. After his second fight with Ichigo, he notes that Ichigo was eager to use his Hollow mask, as once his mask came off his breathing instantly became faster, but he notes that it may not be that simple, implying that it must have something to do with him taking so much damage either because he lost too much spiritual energy, or maybe that it has a limit on the amount of time he can use it. By his third fight with Ichigo, he notes that it has expanded the amount of time he can remain in his mask state.[57]

Panther: The sword's guard resembles an angular "S". The hilt and sheath are blue.[58]

Energy Charge: Grimmjow has demonstrated the ability to charge his Zanpakutō with spiritual power, allowing him to use this ability in certain instances, such as giving him an extra boost in flight or sending this attack at an opponent to create a small curtain of nearly transparent color. Partial Transformation: Grimmjow can, at will, change the appearance of his hands to his arms in his released state, which extends to his arms, leaving marks that were used to hunt Askin Nakk Le Vaar when he entered the Soul King Palace. Resurrección: The release command is "Bite him". To release his Zanpakutō, he holds it as if he were starting a low turn and holds it in his right hand. The blade of his Zanpakutō glows blue when he touches it with his left hand. He then quickly runs his hand down the length of the blade as if making a creaking sound while saying the release command, causing a massive surge of Reiatsu to occur that creates gusts of wind that destroy nearby objects. In his released form, Grimmjow takes on a form very similar to his original Adjuchas form. His hair becomes very long, a tail, ears, and claws appear, and his legs become almost cat-like. His jaw mask disappears and reappears on his forehead in a different form. His Arrancar outfit is replaced by form-fitting white armor that resembles his Adjuchas appearance. He also develops "blades" on his calves and forearms.[59][60]

Energy Attacks: In Resurrección, Grimmjow has demonstrated the ability to create energy attacks to accompany his brute force physical attacks. These appear as clots or waves of bright blue spiritual energy. Rigido: When released, he uses a roar to create shockwaves in the air and surrounding area, powerful enough to send opponents or those nearby flying a long distance away.[61] Garra de la Pantera: Sharp bombs are fired from his elbow at high speed. Five projectiles can be fired at once. This has a devastating effect. A single projectile can destroy a column about thirty meters in diameter.[62] They take the form of dark green crystals made of unevenly cut stone. With his Hollow mask on, Ichigo withstood all five and continued fighting.[63] Desgarron: According to Grimmjow, this is his strongest attack.[64] His claws begin to glow, and he then uses a slashing motion. Each claw becomes longer and sharper due to the use of Reishi, which he can launch at the opponent. He can create up to ten of these "claws".[65] Grimmjow's attacks are spaced out. By gathering Reishi in one hand, he is able to launch another prepared attack. The power and force of this attack is so great that Ichigo could only dodge and take the blows, and at the last moment, through sheer force of will, he was able to cut and attack Jaegerjaquez.[66] Grimmjow's Desgarron was strong enough to seriously injure a weakened Ikomikidomoe. Kugo Ginjou and Candice Catnipp even feared that a clash between Desgarron and the eighth Gran Rey Cero fired by Luppi at once could kill them along with most of the Rukongai district they were in.
