Fumikage is reserved, serious, and focused, though noble and brave. Though he doesn't talk much, he will outright ignore seemingly pointless questions or requests (such as Tenya Iida asking him not to sit at the desk) while talking to other people as a sort of ongoing joke. When Fumikage teams up with others, he becomes more sociable, helping his teammates, reassuring them of his trust, and thanking them for their efforts. Fumikage is fond of darkness and other related concepts, considering himself a "creature of darkness" and employing archaic-sounding speeches that end up painting him as a bit creepy or dramatic. However, Fumikage is a bit insecure about his interests due to them being more on the arcane, fantastical side, and is therefore harder for others to understand or relate to.

Fumikage also possesses a great amountFumikage also possesses a great amount of humility, being aware of his own limits and understanding when it's time to back down. He takes any advice he takes to heart and uses it to try and improve his Quirk and abilities, showing great determination to keep up with the best heroes like Hawks. Fumikage is a short young man with the head of a black bird, possibly meant to resemble a crow. He has a yellow beak that is slightly hooked at the end, slender, red eyes, one on each side of his head, and a red choker, which he rarely removes. However, despite the appearance of his head, his body is in a normal human shape, with fairly fair skin. After his internship training with Hawks, Fumikage has grown more muscular. Thanks to the work-study training he received from Hawks, Fumikage enhanced Dark Shadow to the point where he is able to make it travel further from his body (though the further Dark Shadow travels, the faster his energy depletes) and develops an ability.
