Dead

Physically, Dead was a thin man with long, straight, dark blonde hair that he usually partially covered his face while performing on stage. He had a pale complexion and intense blue eyes that often seemed to stare straight through the audience. His style of dress consisted of dark, torn clothing, complemented by black and white makeup that highlighted his ghoulish appearance.

Per Yngve Ohlin, also known as "Dead", had a complex and enigmatic personality, making him stand out as an intriguing character in the extreme metal scene. Although his stage persona and music were dark and aggressive, those who knew him described Dead as an introverted, melancholic person who was deeply involved in his art.

Dead was known for his reserved nature and serious approach to creating music, which often led him to delve into his thoughts and emotions in a deep and reflective manner.

Despite his introverted personality, Dead was also described as a passionate and dedicated individual towards his art, displaying exceptional intensity and commitment in his live performances and on his recordings. However, the deep melancholy and darkness that characterized Dead also manifested itself in his struggle with depression. His artistic sensitivity and deep connection with darkness and death left an indelible mark on the history of black metal and made him a legendary figure in the underground music scene. He hated cats, he used crystal, he was fascinated with death, he said he was dead, he put dead animals in his pockets, he was obsessed with the occult and Satanism, he was of Swedish origin but to be in the band Mayhem he is now living in Norway.
