It wasn't until Naruto made him see that he could still get ahead and love others that he changed again, now for the better; he was someone who tried to open up and live with others and who cares about his friends and loved ones, even forgiving his father after learning that his mother truly loved him, his person changed so much that he later became Kazekage of Sunagakure, which now made Gaara care about his village and could give his life for it as well as for his friends, even after losing his tailed beast. Despite his stoic behavior, Gaara is empathetic and in touch with his emotions. Despite his history of cruelty and youth during his rise to Kazekage, Gaara wins the love of his people by displaying his idealism, compassion, and willingness to reform. A man of few words but with a kind heart
